man this thread is fucking cool. I'm a big spender and I'm beginning to hate it... a while back I had little cash and could manage.. now I make 5-6 times more than in the previous years and after 3 weeks I always find myself running out of money.. this is NOT good. I really need some self control, loved all the tips here... I'm going to have to start saving some money... :weed: best read stoned
Thanks for dropping by HerbalBeast,

What you just said couldn't be any more to the point. The more you have the more you spend. My situation is the opposite of yours. I was once rolling in it, and now because of the goddamn economy I'm broke. I'm surviving just fine by adjusting my lifestyle. I find now when I do have a phat wallet I don't know what the fuck to buy. lol

I have another tip for you all. When you're moving apartment you need boxes, right? Check this out http://www.uhaul.com/MovingSupplies/Boxes

What the fuck! Look at the price of those fuckers.

Because companies are now "Green" and "Recycle" crazy they have seperate dumpsters/skips for cardboard. It's all very clean and the boxes are really good quality. So, if you ever need boxes try this.

Fruit boxes from grocery stores work very well, and most come with tops...sturdy to boot

I try to stay away from stores as much as possible. My wife hates that I don't like to "window shop". Every time I hear "shop", I also hear that damn cash register adding up the total. When I go to a store, say Walmart, I go in with a list and go straight to the items I need. No bargain shopping, no stopping to try samples, look straight ahead and walk. Get what I need and get out. Quickly. I hate large crowds anyway so the combination of lots of people and registers ringing is unsettling to me.

Now I have on occasion gone to the local Super Walmart during the summer and just stroll through the very air conditioned store while people watching if it's not too crowded. Turn mine off and use theirs.

I have a veggie garden and hope to eventually have a couple of acres in the country to raise a couple pigs, some chickens, and a couple cows. I have recently started composting also. Cheap way to get great soil!

I make damn near every beauty product known to man in the comfort of my own home.....with even better results! From facial masks to hair removal creams, I have learned how to make them on my own, saves HELLA $$ but you must invest time!

I am working on making my own cleaning products, baking soda and vinegar are really the only two cleaning products anyone needs, the rest of them are nothing but unenvironmentally friendly! I just saved a recipe to make my own laundry detergent!!

I shop at the good will and salvation army! I am a tiny woman and I get lucky at these places! Ross, marshalls, etc for clothes that must be purchased new!

I used to be a very self indulgent woman always concerned about how I looked, the designer labels, etc! I have changed alot and now I want to truly live a simpler life. I would love to own a homestead someday with the hubbs, where we can grow our own vegetables and live off of the land more! I am truly happier living a greener lifestyle, reusing and recycling whatever I can. Until then I do what I can to live this lifestyle even though I am in a big city.

wild boar is the way to go, you can get paid 50-100 a head by farmers plus you can keep the meat
It's open season here in California on pigs. As many as you can take.

An easy way to round them up is to let a dead carcass, pig or cow lay around for a few days by the side of a trail. Then tie a chains around it and drag it around. The piggies come running.

They make damm good tacos :hump:
