Buying First Seeds

Hey everyone!

I am looking to purchase my first seeds from the attitude in the next couple weeks upon finishing my grow setup and would like to ask a few questions first. The first question would be do most of you when ordering use your credit card and ship directly to your house even when thats where your grow will take place? My other question would be what are some very nice strains that are fun to grow and have a great outcome to them? My final question would be about hearing when your seeds are taken by customs what happens? Do you just get a warning letter or do you get fined etc. I have looked around for these answers and find many different answers so was looking to get a final say from everyone before I make my order.

Thanks!

i have gotten the dreaded customs letter.. at the bottom, it just says that no further action will be taken.. nice.. they just take the beans and mail whatever else may have been in the letter..
do you like indica's or sativa's? that is the best place to start.. you like being glued to the couch, or more motivated and inspired like a good sativa stone?
i always just pay with my visa debit card and get em sent to the crib.. its all good...
i would just do a search on the attitude for whichever you like, indica or sativa.. once you find a few that catch your eye, come back and post em up here and ask for others opinions on that strain..

1.) Normally I use my debit card but now and then a credit card.
2.)I have always had my orders sent to where I live and grow.
3.) Almost every strain is fun to grow. The question you have to ask yourself is what do you like? A pure sativa, a pure indica, a sativa/indica cross that is mostly one or the other ... is yield more important than potency ... is being a strain that is easier to grow, something less finicky important to you, how about odor, wold a low odor strain be important too you, how about flavor and or color? What is it you actually want other than to just grow your own pot?
4.) If Customs nabs your order you will receive the empty package with a letter saying it contained an illegal item or items and information as to how to go about disputing it if you want .. which you would not do ... that's all that will happen ... at least if you are in the U.S.

Thanks guys thanks for clearing some things up.

racerboy71 - I am not really concerned about the whole sativa or indica as im am about other things actually. Im up for anything. I was asking others due to the fact that im curious what you guys rather grow opposed to something else. The reason for this is I have searched all over the attitude and see many many eye appealing strains but not sure where to start as theres soo many nice things I just cant choose.

Brick Top - As said above indica or sativa isnt a big deal but you ask some other reall good thing to consider so thanks for mentioning. I would like to try to get something that would possibly be easier to control height of. I know a lot of that deals with veg/flowering but I have been told that some strains just want to be big. I would like something that would be fairly east to grow but as its my first time I don't know what the definition of easy to grow is just yet. Now as for odor I would like something that would be pretty easy to manage. I know the flowering part is where they start to get that big odor but I have heard some strains start pretty early with a pretty strong smell and I would like to stay away from them for now. And finally the color is something I wouldnt mind having. Looking over the attitude I see the reds whites purples and really attracted to them so if you have a suggestion for any of those type id be very pleased.

Now for some names that I have watched some videos of being grown and liked the look alot of were as followed. Im just not sure if any of these names meet my criteria for being a new grower as the people I have watched were more experienced.

Super lemon haze
purple haze
white widow
train wreck

Thanks again to everyone.

OK .. My suggestion would be. Just about as easy to grow as you will find, normally more on the short and bushy side, a good producer, potent and normally lower odor ... and it won the 1st place indica Cup in 1989 in the HTCC and the following year took the 2nd place indica Cup and 2nd place in the 2003 HLC.

Sensi Seeds - Northern Lights

Strain: Northern Lights
Breeder: Sensi Seeds
Location: indoor
Type: indica
Flowering: ~48 days

Cannabis-seed for indoor cultivation.

Northern Lights is a pure Cannabis Indica strain that has been developed through years of extensive selective breeding after crossing the only three pure Northern Lights varieties; NL-1, NL-2, and NL-5. The resulting cannabis hybrid proves to be one of the strongest, most potent, pure Indica varieties ideal for indoor marihuana cultivation. Northern Lights is very compact, fast flowering, and high yielding with a spider mite resistance. The large dense buds are covered with potent resin that has a deep, rich sweet aroma and the taste is a pungent sweetness of sour fruit. The effects are extremely powerful, long lasting, and slightly narcotic. Flowering: 45-50 days
Height: 100-125 cm
Yield: up to 125 gr

Why the above?

Super lemon haze - potent but prone to turning hermi and being a Haze strain, mostly sativa, if you get a more sativa phenotype it will want to grow tall.

purple haze - You said height would be a possible concern and Purple Haze is mostly sativa and it will likely want to grow tall.

white widow - If you had said Black Widow, which is what Shantibaba renamed his original Cup winning White Widow after selling his share of Green House Seeds and opening Mr. Nice Seeds I would say it's a good choice but you said White Widow which means you would likely end up with one of the roughly 30 knockoff strains and only a couple are what I would call good to really so there would be better options than them.

train wreck - You said low odor would be nice and the one I grew had a pretty strong odor and the Arcata E-32 is a clone only strain so unless you know for a fact, and I don't mean what advertising copy claims or promotional videos claim, that someone got clones and then feminized them to make beans you will again be looking at a knockoff strain like White Widow's are.

I may of course be wrong but my spider senses are telling me that the Super Lemon Haze, White Widow and Train Wreck you are considering are all Green House Seeds strains and the Purple Haze is from G13 Labs.

Neither are what I would consider to be top breeders ... or all that close to being top breeders ... more in what I call the Wal-Mart of breeders category .... but if one of them is what you want then go for it.

Lots of nice information provided. I think Ill go with that then after all the time you put into explaining it for me. I thank you a lot!

Wanted to mention do you have any other alternative suggestions as those are out of stock and seems that when i search for that one its about 150 bucks USD for seeds. Seems a little pricey for seeds for a first time grow.

I absolutely agree with Brick....110% with all he stated. NL would have been my recommendation as well. If you have time, check out the serious seeds line. They only have 5 strains (2 new ones coming) and they are all quality. Genetics are very important and thats why their commitment to only a few strains maintains the integrity of a stable family. A bit on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. I have been growing SS for years and have NEVER had one hermie on me or not be vigorous in growth and potency. Very high ratio of female seeds and its nice when a male pops up to collect pollen. :hump:

Go with Dr Atomic's Northern Lights (Atomic NL) quite possibly the best NL strain on the planet, this is NL #5 an ideal starter strain, LOW ODOR short, intense.

The best weed in the world is in the best growers rooms. it doesn't matter what city, good dank doesn't know location. I've compiled a list of the 10 best marijuana strains. That’s not mean I’ve been ending up on the history of marijuana.

1. Big Bud: Winner of the Cannabis Cup in 1989. Mostly Indica. All plants have guaranteed high yields, 25% has something special to it. Usually the lower branches collapse under the weight of the buds. Cash cropper's delight.

2. Ice: Ice Marijuana was developed to be stronger bolder than any other strain of marijuana. It's very sticky and very popular.

3. Skunk # 1: Skunk #1 was developed for indoor cultivators. This particular strain was developed for the high yield grower that is looking to achieve large buds.

4. Northern Lights: Northern Lights Marijuana has big crystalized leaves and was developed for high yield indoor growing. It has a strong earthy taste that is preferred by many.

5. New York City Diesel: NYC Diesel is a super dense indoor strain that is also very smelly. It has the strong earthy taste of citric diesel fuel.

6. Lowryder: Lowryder is unique in that it does away with the vegetative growth stage. It grows a set of leaves and begins flowering. Because of this it is one of the most easily concealed for the indoor grower.

7. Blueberry: Blueberry is a high yield mosty indica strain that is a bit on the high maintenance end of growth but it has an amazing flavor and some amazing buds. Very popular with new smokers.

8. AK-47: AK 47 is very tangy. Its great for entire body sensation buzz. Especially popular for medical marijuana use.

9. Purple Power: Another high yield growth strain that is primarily an outdoor strain with a sweet amber overtone.

10. Afghan: Perfect for the outdoor cultivator, though it is also grown indoors. This strain is extremely rugged plant and is the lowest mntc of any strain of marijuana.

In my opinion you should start with a lower priced strain. almost all of Nirvana and Seedsman seeds are $24-27 for 10 reg seeds. They arent of the "best genetics" but will do fine for a first grow in my opinion. and after you get a feel for growing maybe you should bump up to the more desirable strains.

Nirvana;
Aurora Indica
Ice
White Widow

Best of luck to you bruh.

Real true Northern Lights #5 would be a good option. I wonder if Dr. Atomic's is just a knockoff version or if they got their hands on Neville's original 1st place HTCC Cup winning genetics from 1990 (and also the 3rd place Cup winner in the HLC Cup in 2002) or what?

While there are MANY stories about the origin and also the true makeup of Northern Lights, and Norther Lights #5 the one that seems most believable to me is how when Neville got it, it was only available as cutting and used as Mother from Neville's "The Seed Bank". Supposedly Neville just called it "CI #5 F1" originally but later it was given the name Norther Lights #5. The lineage is always questioned and normally just said to be mostly indica and from California but some people who 'claim' to know say its a Thai x Indica, than backcrossed to the Indica.

As his question has mostly been answered, how about the best strain of sativa or sativa/indica mix higher on the sativa side. Will be placing first order soon and want to laugh my head off. thanks

If you really want to laugh your head off after getting high you might need to borrow Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine and find yourself one of the many strains of Mexican from the 60's and early 70's, before it became the indica polluted over-dried pressed brickweed most people today wrongly believe it always was. Often we didn't know an actual strain name, only that it was Mexican, and we'd just call it giggle-weed because no matter what happened .... you would laugh, you would find something funny in anything and everything.
