Will this cfl be good enough for one or two plants?

You should go with a 2700K bulb. 125 watts will only be enough for 2 plants if you do straight 12/12 light schedule from seed.

Isn't 2700k better for the flowering stage though?
I think that's why he is suggesting 12/12 from seed. CFLs have very limited penetration so @ best you could manage a 1 foot plant with that light.. If you introduce supplemental side lighting then you can work some magic.

im currently growing with a 200w 6400k cfl. i also have two 30w in a dual socket and a 50w 2700k t5. i vegged way too long and now i have a 3ft plant 5 days into flower... so im gonna have to get more side lighting. but i also have a WW x Afghan Kush and AK X NYCD growing that vegged for 2 weeks from seed under the 200w cfl. and today two other seedlings germinated, so ill have those 5 but im gonna be getting a HPS setup soon. anyway here are the pics so u can get an idea of what a 200w cfl can do. btw big plant is Citral

top shot

you can see the ghetto light setup i have going on for the smaller plants... but its working better than them being far away from the big light.

Thanks for the compliment. As for the light setup its a hydrofarm reflector / 200w full spectrum cfl.

ya i think that would work great. but why CFL? what your looking at is going to be roughly the same size as a HPS or MH 200/200/600. the only difference is gonna be CFL = no heat MH/HPS = heat. btw google "htg gardening" they have great prices on lights... especially 150w and 400w hps lamps. and its not much more than what your already gonna spend. how many plants you looking to grow?

I'm looking into cfl because I'm going to be growing in a small space, so I don't want the heat to be a problem. I'll probably grow 1 to 3 plants for personal use.

those are expensive get a couple 18 watts instead so you can put them all around like me for $6

Well what about a 250w cfl? And what lights would you recommend to put on the side?

buying 2 125watt's would be better then just 1 250watt.

1 125 watt can grow 1 plant. (2 but yield will even out either way)

2700k is the spectrum for flower 6500-6700k for veg.

a cheap light for the sides can be a T-12 fixture, you have to keep the bubls ~2" away for it to be effective. it can fit 2 40watt fluoro bulbs. so if you get 2 T12 on sides at 80 watts each, would be 160 watts. then 2 125w cfls would be 160+250 which is over 400 watts. that can grow 2 plants with pretty dense bud.
