I just ordered my carbon filter/fan today, so I won't have to worry about that particular problem Glad to know the NLs won't start smelling until they begin flowering.

Congrats on your purchase, smell will no longer be a worry for you. I made this diagram as best as possible of what I would recommend for your tent set up. I would put the Filter and fan on your ceiling of your tent if space is available. If not then you can put the CFM Fan on top outside your tentand just rig Air Ducting inside your tent to the filter. Reason you want to put the filter on top cause heat rises and it will remove the hot air that rises. Now I think you said earlier in our journal heat isnt a issue for you. I would take one of your in-line booster fans that you already have and put that on the bottom pulling air into your tent. So you will have air coming in on the bottom and air going out throught your filter and out your tent. I dont know how much space you have in the room your tent is in but try to get your exhausted air to the window of your room if there is a window in your room. I hope it helps and I hope you understand the diagram. Enviroment control is very important for growing IMO. This is just my recommendation and what I would do in your set-up. I am sure other people will have different ways to set it up but the bottom line is what works best for you and your set-up. I think you have seen how my tent is set up with my exhaust and fresh air going in and out my bedroom window. My plants enviroment has been stellar except for when it rains outside I shut my window cause my tent is in flowering and dont want the humidity in my room. Hope that helps Chief. Yeah millyy, it is kind of difficult to make yourself clip the top off of a perfectly healthy plant...but once you see that it really doesn't harm them - and will quickly start making those extra colas - you will want to do it to every plant you grow. I did it very reluctantly on my first grow, and ended up with some real 4 cola beauties (too bad that all but one was male). I'm a few weeks from harvest now and will top the three new babies I have going within a day or two. I no longer have doubts I will get the multiple colas...
Millyy if you dont want to chop the top off completely then you can give your top a haircut by using FIM.....I would recommend you trying all methods so you can be proficient on growing and see what method best suits you. Its all about personal preference bro and what the strain can do. But manditroy is right about the quick recovery and you can always clone the top of your plant if you want to keep it. I havent topped a plant yet because I thought I did but instead I FIM'd it....LOL Hope that helps.

I'm excited about getting my carbon filter/fan in my tent and not having to worry about smell, which means I can grow some of those 10 free seeds Nirvana gave me. Since I didn't know the strains of the seeds, I was going to wait until I moved before growing any of them. I also have a liter of Ona Gel, I could put some in a container by the window I'm exhausting the air from the tent at. I will make sure the inline intake fan is put in the vent at the bottom of the tent. My girls thank you for the compliment I see you already have a thread on setting up ventilation in a tent

Actually that thread was me not understanding how to set up my tent and it did turn out to be a nice thread and I learned a ton from that thread. I truely believe that if we control the enviroment for our babies....they will repay us in the end. I am glad to have helped you and the Ona Gel works great when harvesting too. I would also recommend you purchasing some CO2 pads that you can hang in your tent, they work really good. They cost about $25 a package but trust me they work good. The rate in which plants recover from topping is amazing. Check out how fast San is growing since I topped her.
I will look into the CO2 pads. I will definitely have some Ona on hand at harvest time. After checking out the size of the colas on Pat and Stranger, I'm a believer
I think im going to graduate from CFL flowering in a few months to HPS. I didnt know they could be sold for that cheap, I'm really turned on by that, and the Filter.... getting to be a legit growing operation ?What's up James, I copped that light off eBay for about $75 plus shipping. I think I got a good deal, it's enough light for my growing needs. I only flower 2 plants at a time under the 150 HPS. I'm vegging 2 plants in the closet under CFLs. How's your grow coming along? The babies you have flowering has some nice sizes buds on them
