I use Fox Farms Ocean Forest with Perlite added. A lot of people use Happy Frog for the seedlings, etc.

You didn't say much about your grow. What nutrients are you going to be using, what strain, what light, how many plants etc.

Give us more info and perhaps we can help you out. :joint::peace:

I have a 3x4x7h room
I am using FF nutes trio
400 watt hps system with a 400 watt conversion bulb 18/6
I got Northern Lights and I have 20 seedlings
Temp right now been around 75 to 80
moving fan I leave the door open for air movement.

I would go with the FFOF.

20 plants in that size room ? I have never grown Northern Lights.

Your setup sounds fine. The only problem with the 400 watt is light penetration. Meaning you are only going to get a couple of feet of good light.

Right now I am flowering 8 bubbas to trying and figure out what is the optimum yield. Usually I would run 4 or 6.

Good Growing

I am only staying with 1/2 gal pots for now and when I can i will flower with a 1000 watt Hps and I have grown these before but in 5 gal buckets and WON'T do that again, because they grow taller in 5 gal buckets...
I am more interesting in the soil mix..?
Is Happy frog good with out adding Perlite or vermiculite or anything else.?
I have used MG no feed in the past and use my own ff nutes and did alright.

I'm sure it won't matter as long as you are adding nutrients, as the Happy Frog doesn't have much.

I have grown with and without perlite using FFOF. I've added 20-30 % and the only difference is in how much you water. You will need to watch for overwatering more, if you don't use perlite.

Next batch I am going to try Kelloggs Potting soil and see if there is much difference.

Here is how I pot my plants.

Cuttings to clones -> 16oz Party Cups -> 1 gal -> 2 or 3 gallon -> 5 gallon if I am going to veg for awhile.

They idea of up-canning is to develop roots at each stage (almost rootbound), when you go to the next larger pot the roots will want to explode.

This is what is done at most nurseries with most plants.

Works with MJ also :leaf:
