We'll there's a lot of store bought composters out there and there's a DIY with a regular Rubbermaid type container, 63L or about 15 gallons, with 2 lids (one to act as a tray), drilled holes on the bottom and top sides, and the ingredients to start an environment for the worms like wet newspaper, soil and some old plant debris, and we all have some of that around. They say there is no odor but they also say that you should mind what you put into it to help control it. Using worms, or vermiculture, is only one way, there are other types out there, but I've already decided to go with worms. There was another guy who was going to put the worms right in his pots and feed them with corn meal. You bury about a teaspoon on one side of the plant and if you see it go then you know the worms are surviving and you feed on the other side of the pot to keep them moving around. Good for aeration and all those worm castings. Then when your done you throw the used soil, plant and rootball into the composter, along with those worms who will now pull double duty working and producing.
