Trying Hempy, process after rockwool?

I'm stoked about the Hempy threads on here. The method may be simple enough for me to pull off. :)

How do you transition from germination to hempy without a bubble bath?

I use hempy and germ in rockwool, after the roots are visible in the cube I move them into solo cups. I use the small cubes, not sure what you are using. I just poke a hole in the cup with a pen about 1/2 inch up from the bottom. After about 2 weeks cut off the bottom of the cup with a razor, burry about 3/4 of the cup in the final container. You will have to water daily for the first 2 weeks of so until the roots get out of the cup and down to the bottom. I'm certain that others will chime in options, this is just how I do it. Good luck, it's pretty simple. That's the beauty of hempy.

I do the exact same thing except I transplant out of the cup all together and put the root ball in a 3gallon buckets. I may try the cup cutting method next though. One thing I learn is to use the 3:1 perlite and vemerculite ratio and not just perlite. Problems with algae. Others may have different results.

I'm heading in to get the Perlite and Vermiculite today. Stoked!
How do you guys handle the feeding process?

It appears that some use a time release method and fert once while others mix nutes in with their water and hit with nutes every time.

Both methods appear to produce nice results. I'm not sure which way to go.

I like the idea of hitting nutes once during veg then adding a bit of high phosphorous solution during flowering. This is all theory as I'm brand new.

All tips are appreciated, especially what does NOT work.

Gird, I can't speak to time release. I use the GH Maxi series mixing it just as it states on the bag and pH it. That is all I use until the flush, no plain water, nothing. How can you dump that much nute mix and not have a problem? I don't really know but, I don't. There are some who say that you don't even have to pH for hempy, I can't speak to that either, as I have never tried it. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

As for as people not adjusting pH for their water, that is because they have a low pH coming out of their fuacet more and likely. I usually have to add pH up after adding nutes. I had problems using botanicare with hempy, but switch to GH flora and everything looks great now. I just mix two gallons of RO water add half strength GH 3parts, then pH up. Let bubble for at least an hour or until ready to feed.

GH stands for General Hydroponics - A nutrient Company. You can transplant the rockwool seedling right into the hempy bucket. Ive used Peat pucks too.

Thanks Xare. I've been reading the Hempy Collective thread off and on for the last two days. Great posts on there.

Your DIY bucket and SOG grows were pretty impressive as well.
