Anyone care to elaborate on the dangers of mixing MAOI's?
Some MAOI's stay effective for as little as a day or two and there are some nonreversible pharms. Biggest danger is hypertensive crisis which can be life threatening. There are so many foods that make it even more dangerous they are hard to number coffee, liver yeasty breads, beer even some common fruits and meats. Usually ritualistic ayahuasca requires some fasting before ingesting brews.
Most people stick to the extracts which are reversible maoi's and shorter in duration, with very few bad side effects (I've never heard of any).

Most of the socaled MAOI's we use are not MAOI's but RIMA's, reversible inhibitors.

I don't see any problems with diet and caapi.
Be worried about medicinal MAOI's, our bodies can sort out most of the natural stuff.
With a RIMA you may be low on MAO for a few hours, with a proper MAOI your body may take 4 weeks to recover the neccesary levels to fend of toxic buildups from foods.... i.e. you can kill yourself.

So rule of thumb: Stay away from pharm MAOI's.
