Help Design & Setup im first veg room. FIRST GROW nOOb

i have to keep this as low cost as possibel as im pretty broke right know. my seeds arrived the othe day (5 FEM SLH, cali hash plant, and power skunk) so it is time to set up a veg room so i can start.

CLOSET A- 8 x 8 x 7 feet tall, has larg acess hole to attick, it has carpet floor, drywall painted a deep maroon/red walls, no windows.

The lighting is a 400w HSP grow light.

I want to be able to veg 7-10 plants for 8-12 weeks, and keep some clones with them. how small should i shrink the room down to to accomidate the 400w hps?
how would you guys set up this room on a real tight budget?

A 400w HPS can't support an area larger than 2.5' square, maximum. It can only provide sufficient light for healthy growth about 32" away from the bulb. Needing at least 10" away from the plant tops, you won't benefit from growing plants over 2' tall. How many plants you can grow in that area depends on how big they get. We flower 4 plants, each topped twice for about 6 colas, in 5-6 gallon buckets, for 90 days, to a height of just over 2', yielding at least 3.5oz per plant dry, under a 400w HPS.

get a light mover, it will be perfect. you can veg double plants and insure light coverage, they run about $120 online but they are worth it for your case

huh? dude, in FLOWERING the 400w can easily do for 8sq.ft like 2.6'x3' for vegging it can cover a bigger area at least 3x4

i was thinking about somehow shrinking down the room to 4x5, and using the back 4 sq feet for the clones with a 4ft duel tube fluro? this light and room will be for vegging only. the sun will take care of the flowering. with what i have i want to be able to veg 5-7 plants from seed for 8-10 weeks in there. how big of pots should i use? how big do will the plants get in 10 weeks? im looking for as big as i can get them with the light i have. i will be using FF Nutes and FF Ocean forest. i have alot of old cow shit, can i use that as fert? if so how should i go about using it. i was just going to til it in to my natural soil/FF ocean forest mix? should i use some for vegging or just in the soil for when they go outside? thanks for the help guys. also can i use the reflective rolls you can get for a buck at dollar general? do you think the humidity will fuck up anything in the room? thanks for all your help RIU!!! once the seeds are germed ill start a jorunal!

5gal buckets normally last around 90 days. This can be stretched to about 110 or as little as 80 with quick-growing roots. You could probably get away with 4gal, but 5gal buckets are common and cheap.

Manure isn't very good for potted plants. It works much better outdoors, mixed into the soil where it can spend alot of time breaking down. It's also usually very acidic. If you must use it, add some lime and watch the soil pH carefully. Some of the best fertilizers include Fish Emulsion/Hydrolyzed fish, Bat & Seabird Guanos, Maxicrop soluble seaweed powder, Bone & Blood Meals, Worm Castings and Palm Bunch Ash.
