First Grow Soil - Big Bud Bubble GUM

This is going to be a small time medical grow. Its my 1st attempt.
So go easy on a rookie, and I’m open to suggestions , plus expecting to make lots of mistakes.

I just received the bean order from marijuana-seeds.nl. I ordered on 12/30 and they arrived today. I bought 10 Big bud, 10 Northern lights, 10 Bubble Gum and 5 mystery seeds .

I just put 6 Big Bud seeds and 6 Bubble Gum seeds in the paper towel. I’m hoping half sprout , and half of sproutters will be female . I can have 6 plants total

I'm planning on using 2ea 4 foot florescent fixtures for the vegetation room and ordering a 400 watt HPS for the flowering room .

I have rapid rooters for the seeds when they sprout.

I know boring so far, but its my first grow.

The seeds arrived on Friday 1/21. I put 6 big bud and 6 bubble in the paper towel.

4 of the big bud popped and are showing a drop root, and all 6 of the bubble gum popped open.

I put the popped seeds in the rapid rooter this morning. Peace

I have a couple trying to pop up. Little bit of green showing.

And a picture of the room. It has 2ea 4' fluorescents, but picked up a 400 watt with a MH bulb. So I will veg. with that. until I get them cloned and sexed.

Day 7

Not much change. The Big BUD #1, that looked like it was popping , popped up but didn't have the 2 little round leaves. It is either a root growing up , or I had the 2ea 29 watt CFL too close, burn off the top. ( Im doubting that) it wasn't hot. I may have had too much water on the rapid rooters also.
So no light until i see green shots.

This part is so frustrating . Waiting

Whats up Shag man ? i think you may have a root showing even though some do pop with no round leaves my GP did that this grow it want hurt to up root it and check just be careful with it, and yea this is the boring part but soon enough you will have lots of work to do and glad you have it..lolcant wait to get it in full swing..i'm here bro so keep us posted!!

By the way here are the pic's of the lower center bud sights i topped two days ago they are looking good this will be my last topping i'll have maybe 22 shoots total.Nice

Well I cut the rapid rooter and looked inside . It was a top , but the seed pod had stayed behind, it looks like the top rotted off . I kept them warm , maybe it was too warm and moist. Well if any experienced guys had seen this before , it would be nice to know what mistake I made.
First grow isn't starting too good.

I put 2 pictures The Big Bud #1 is the one on the left.
Big Bud #2 is out of the rooter, and the only thing showing life.... so far with finger crossed.
I did drop 6 Northern Lights and 5 freebie mystery seeds in the paper towel tonight, so something will be turning green.

Nothing really some people swear by putting the seed root side this and that but i just drop mine in most of the time and they come out ok..But you are suppose to put it in pointed side of seed down because the root will make a u-turn and grow downwards...Peace

Well, I must be a brown thumb. Im pretty bummed .

6 Big Bud seeds planted. #1 spouted and died, #2 is up and not much else , the remaining 4 are a no show.

Bubble Gum all 6 are a no show, A looked at one, in the rapid rooter grabbed the seed with tweezers and the tap root fell off.

I put in the furnace room for a few days right after they cracked. I'm thinking with the moisture and very warm temp . I either cooked them or molded/rotten-ed them.

f@@K me! How tuff is it to get a couple of seed to sprout ?

Well I have 1 .... kind of .

I did crack 6 Northern Lights and 5 free mystery seeds. over the week end, have them in the Rapid Rooter's and they won't be receiving any warmth , just water.

I still have 4 ea of the original 10 seeds. I may try for a germination in dirt.

bro you may just be giving them a lil to mush heat, mine germ at 60 deg just fine i ont use a heating element...

Well the first grow was a flop. I did get 1 Big Bud out of the ground and pulled the RR to look for roots. ( pic) included.

Now for Grow 2, I germed with a paper towel on 1/29 and 2 of the Northern Lights have made it out of the RR. and I can see more coming up.

Today I received a Nirvana package of female AK-48. I dropped 2 Femalized AK-48 and 2 more Big Bud in a towel.

Now for any new growers, Don't put germinating seeds in a warm boiler room.

Grow 2 has surpassed grow 1 the only difference was the warm furnace room .

Looks like we are going to be growing at similar times, same lights etc. Its my first grow aswell, gunna try and get a semi-decent yield with some V. Kush and LSD using a scrog 400w HPS and cfl. Sub'd would be good to see how it turns out. peace +rep for the boiler room advise haha

I have pretty much the same problem with seeds. I recently tried to germ 10 seeds, 3 popped, and then 2 died, the other 7 never showed (beginner error). This is day 8 and I have hopes for the other 7, false hope, but hope. I have one that looks like it might make it under a fan trying to strenghten it for a good life. Once I get it to grow I can clone it and not have to worry about seeds for awhile. If I can get them popped and going for 3-4 days they grow alright. I am not giving up, as long as you have seeds keep trying, we should get there, hopefully soon.

Well I was down out a few days ago. So I replanted, feeling pretty better now. I just couldn't believe I screwed up $80 bucks of good seeds. thanks for stopping by.

The only Big Bud is being surpassed by Grow 2 Northern Lights on day 6.

I have them in a starter box with a couple CFL 's until I transplant them into a something bigger. Then I will move them to my Veg room under 4 4' tubes ( T-5's).
or a 400w MH , I just think that might a little much for such small plants. Any idea's ?

looking good. subbed. id go with the t5 at first then switch to the mh after a week or 2 as long as your temps dont get to high.

Thats what I was thinking , less power and heat , until needed.

I'm working on an thermostatically controlled fan system for the Veg./ flower room now.
