Once they're established, just break off a tip (or 2 or 3) every once in awhile.
Also acts like a early warning system of sorts for trouble. They're pretty sensative in the greens. If there is a prob with the soil it'll show first (usually) in the garlic greens. They also recover fast too.
Simply keep your garlic growing well and your plant should do great. Seems to react to salt build-up, over / under fertilizing, temps, PH, waterings, etc. much like our beloved MGs on the most part.
Cheaper & easier than spraying neem.
