It was passed by the House, end of story. Does anyone truly think Whorehouse Harry will let this thing see the light of day in the Senate? Does anyone actually think The Chosen One will actually sign it if even makes it to his desk?

Because if the money were 100% contributed by the account holder the Federal government could not say shit. No court in the land would uphold such a law.

Ostensibly, the purpose of the legislation in question is to prevent Federal dollars from funding abortions. Which is what Obama promised while championing ObamaCare. He even signed an Executive Order.

So what piece of information we missing here?

This is misdirection. Creating a frenzy over what is essentially a non-story to deflect attention away from something else.

The refusal of the Obama Administration to hand over documents to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is a likely possibility.

This completely a predictable path when conservatives gain control of any part of the government. Abortion, Promising to cut the budget and failing miserably (already started early), Soon we will hear about immigration, which I invite seeing as how this administration has set a record in immigration prosecutions and deportations, religion will come up some how, and guns will come up some how.

What wont come up is the debt, the wars, and jobs. Those will never be address cuz that is the bait for the rest of this congresses agenda. Should they deal with any of those issues, the rest of the bases issues stand no chance.

Thats funny we`ve been paying for the willfully irresponsible decision to invade Iraq for almost 7 years now. This was a willfully irresponsible decision which I am morally opposed. Why cant I demand my tax dollars not pay for that?? Where is the disconnect here? Whats with they hypocrisy and double standard?

if letting someone keep their own money (i.e. exempting taxes from deposits into HSAs) is 'federal spending', then the same must be true of tax cuts for millionaires. you remember pushing that point ad nauseum not but a few months ago, now don't you?

i am not sure what we are missing, but you are missing the fact that there are already several barriers in place for this very issue. others have pointed out the stats already, perhaps you may want to go back and check them out.

Good point Roland, you can't demand that government stop using your money to kill people. Well you can make the demand, but they won't listen.

Nor can others morally opposed to having their time, labor or money taken for things that THEY oppose, such as forcing them to pay for other peoples wants or needs stop government from doing that.

It would be better if people weren't forced to fund anything they don't use or want across the board.

The hypocrisy rises from this, each "party" wants you to involuntarily fund what THEY want, while they proclaim the "good" that will come from forcing you to participate. It would seem the root cause is initiated by "making" people fund things against their will.
THERE is the disconnect. Both parties wrestle for the gun in the room, both enslave.
