basically i made some hash with rubbing alchohol i got the strongest i could find witch was only 640Ml/L, so it was like 64% im guessing the other 36% is water. now its been sitting in a saucepan for over 24 hours and most of it has evaporated but there is still liquid left, i smelt it this morning and it smells nothing like the rubbing alchohol, my question is can i pour this liquid into another container and scrape all the residue already in my first container while the other one dries out? .. then i can scrape that one to and have more hash later on?

oppinions?

Sure it should just be water.
If you want, you can further evaporate by heating gently on a hot plate and stirring w/ a paper clip.

As long as you use good 99% Iso, there is NOTHING wrong with Iso hash or Iso Budder.
Only prob if you use lower percentages is the residual water.
With butane, it's hard to know for sure what else is in there. Iso alcohol is ONLY alcohol and water.

No you didn't miss anything, but i'll tell you one thing for sure; 99% Iso alcohol is a HELL of a lot cheaper than 5x purified butane and does the same job.

You also have to wonder why they had to filter it 5 times in the first place. Doesn't that suggest that the byproducts/impurities are difficult to remove from the butane and that there could still be minute amounts of contaminant?

Scraped the hash and rolled it into a little ball and put a chunk on top of my bong rip and it taste like shit like it taste how the ISO smelt? did i do some part of the method wrong.. it gets me high but im just not shure about smoking smothing that taste like that, could it hurt my body in anyway? ive only had the one bong of it.. and its good shit.

Weird!!!
My guess is that because the alcohol you used was so diluted, it didn't completely evaporate.
I wouldn't think it would be harmful. I would probably smoke it.
I say next time try to get ahold of some 99%--if not--at least 91%.

If you're not used to smoking oil, it can be harsh. I just smoked a cigarette that was painted with oil, actually.

Water could also alter the taste, possibly. Does yours bubble up and slowly melt over the course of the bowl?

Yeah gotta use 91% or higher to get a good iso wash. Also I find that people do the actual wash wayyyyy too long. Like 5 minutes of shaking the jar up is plenty of time. When people leave it in the jar for longer you get a lot more of the chlorophyll (green stuff) in the wash and it makes it tastes not so good. Letting it harden up and cure for a couple weeks make it taste a lot better too. Also next time when it gets towards the end and you want to safely speed it up, use a hair dryer on it. One other thing you could try is using something like Everclear or other really strong grain alcohol instead of iso. It may give a cleaner taste. =)

I use 91%, it works well. I did two separate washes with mine 1 wash for 7 minutes with only popcorn buds, and one wash with trim for 45 minutes. Both oils work, and are high quality. The 7 minute wash is definitely better though. I took the 7 minute and rolled it around in some kief (you west coasters call this....? Budder?) and it's been getting me fried time and time again.

I use "denatured Alchol' or Everclear to make mine.

Anyone remember the "Isomerizer hash maker" from the 70s sold in hightimes?

HERE HERE.........everclear is the way to go......if not for you then only other way is ISO just like baaamaalaam said 91 percent minumum. And yes the high water content is the problem in your hash and NO it wont harm you .....nothing there that can......

thats not written in stone....sorry now I look at it sounds like i was saying only way ahahahaha its just one of the ways and the way I like......ppl have great succsess with there own styls.....I just like everclear......love greendragon tea made from everclear. Once again sorry if I made that sound my way was only way type thing........
