just wonderin how many of ya there are out there and looking for some good tips on outdoors ive been doing autos inside and wonderin if I could start the reg fem seedz with the autos on n 18/6 schedule and a 400whps? or should I just make a new cab n just do cfls? also show us ur crop post pics lost n lots of pics

Hola mi amigo... I have in the past, and plan to again this year--- small to medium guerrilla grows. I've done as few as 3 and as many as 20 in any given year with mixed results. I have 13 "hills" prepared and ready to go for the spring. I'll be starting indoor 1st or second week of April and looking to move out to pasture mid May. It's been my experience that it's good to let a little vegetation grow in the area first so the critters aren't quite as likely to attack.
I'll post some pics when things start going.
Any plans on what strains you'll be growing ?

Green Poision, White Domina....n I think im gonna get some jacks to throw outside aswell should be pretty plentyfull harvest

I'm from northern IL, about 2 hours from Chicago.

I'd like to start growing outdoors, but not really sure where to start, though I've found the PERFECT spot.

im just wondering whether you could really grow outdoors in illinois. its a little too cold isnt it? you would have to start late spring possibly?

you just have to start indoors or patio so you can account for low temps at night. usually any threat of frost is gone by 1st week of May (although I check the weather sites regularly those first couple weeks and leave my self the ability to bring them in if need be) The key is to grow crosses or indica so they finish in time. You're virtually guaranteed a season until mid October, but after that, frost does become an issue. I personally like sativa's so I try to find sat dominant crosses that flower in 8-10 weeks. My experience is that most strains will show their sex 1st or 2nd week of August so you need something that'll finish by the end of Oct.

Start seeds anytime...sooner the better
24 hr lite to keep them vegging
Put pots out in a cold frame in April, w/ a lite bulb for heat, if necessary
Plant them in the ground around 5/15, the last frost date(northern Illinois)
Spray, feed and pray and they will be ready to harvest around 10/15, the 1st frost date.

I start my plants inside around the middle of march, and take them out the middle of May. I kind of traditionally put them out on mother's day......seems fitting. Watch out for bugs in june as it tends to be a very wet month. Other than that just make sure you get them out by the middle of october because the first frost of the fall will be getting pretty close by then. Good luck and happy growing!

getting excited now ... just ordered my genetics today on Attitude's birthday promo (get 'em while you can, promo goes to 3/7 10:00am London time) 10 free beans, 19 total. Now to decide which to hold off on 'til next year.

Start indoors, txfer outdoors after ~May 20. There are charts on seed packets in Home Depot, for instance.

Stuff will grow outside in IL for sure. There is plenty of sun, rain and warmth (at least from May 1 - October 31). This area has some of the best soil in the world for growing, whether it be corn, tomatoes, soybeans, etc.

my starts are working on their 2nd full leaf set... I'm going to try FIMing them between the 3rd and 4th --- anyone here done any advanced techniques?
