Collected seeds from some of the strongest herb I have ever smoked over the last few years and Im going to re-experience them.

7pm last night I placed 9 seeds in a cup of spring water.
11am Today I noticed that the seeds were starting to crack open, all but one cracked. That one that didnt pop sunk to the bottom.
Placed them in starter pots at 1pm today, roots aiming up, covered them with about 1/8 inch of soil and lightly packed them by tapping the pot against a hard surface.
Set them on a tray under a 40W CFL (150w eq) 2700k , about 2000+ lumens. On the second day that they break soil I will turn on 2 more 26W CFL (100w eq) 1600+ lumens, these lights at kept at a measured 1 1/2 inchs from the tops of the plants. This is where they will stay for one week from 2 days from now 24/7 light.
Box Dimensions: 3.6' x 2.8' x 2.9' inside dimensions.
Ventilation: a single variable speed 280mm a/c fan at 8k rpms it will produce as much as 320cfpm of air flow, I have it at about 2600 rpms right now and with all 3 lights on temps sit comfortably about 79f humidity is between 30 and 40%.
two ports for letting air in both 92mm round. I only have a exhaust fan because I use negative air pressure to pull fresh air into the box, I have a 200mm silent fan inside the box that blows the cool air onto the plants.

here are a few pictures nothing much to look at right now though.

After the first week of 24/7 I will change the light cycle to 16/8 with a one hour light period in the middle of the dark cycle. just to help get a few more females.

I used FoxFarm Grow big during veg. Worked great for me. After the first feeding I noticed a serious change in growth. Much faster.

I totally thought the same thing. I got to that part, stopped reading his post, read all the other posts, got to you, and have to say I agree...I thought roost wanted to dig into the soil, and the seed itself pops above the surface, or the interior of the seed, depending on how fixed the "shell" is, right?

exactly.. one of my buddies made the same mistake of planting upside down and leaves were growing under soil.. thing died very shortly after

please do not get things twisted. I am not giving anyone advice, but this is something that I do, but maybe you can try it out.
I mean take a look for yourself I planted these yesterday. I just think it forces the the seedling to bend more giving it a stronger base.
As far as the light interrupt I was told that by an old time grower, figured if it works for him it'll work for me.
Pic 11 just a bunch of bagseed, im going to braid them because im bored.

4 Days old, was having problems with timer I used from last grow. Bought a new timer today should solve that problem. 24/7 veg until I am happy.
I dont plan on keeping all of these just grew so many to help increase the odds of a female.
Well here they are at 4 days old. 5 days from germination.
They are currently under 5 x 26w 6500k cfls. Thats 130 true watts, and 500 watt equivelent. A total of 8250 lumens. THis is only for veg. I am keeping the lights a 2 inchs away from the plants at all times adjusted daily.
Heres the picks hope you just sub. Its going to be a fun ride.

Not a big change but here is todays results, they are working on getting there tri leaves. They are a little stretched but if I move them closer the temps jump from 80 to 90. any suggestions?IMAG0473.jpgIMAG0468.jpgIMAG0471.jpgIMAG0472.jpgIMAG0469.jpgIMAG0470.jpgIMAG0478.jpgIMAG0477.jpgIMAG0475.jpgIMAG0474.jpgIMAG0476.jpg

If temps are too high its probably from air flow, could have a fan blow on the plants/lights inside. You mind taking a pic of your entire setup and stuff like the Frig?

Anyways I always figured a frig would be a good place to grow been seeing a lot of them lately. nice work

Notice that they all have purple stems, with the exception of one 4 post above this one (02-19-2011 03:32 PM) picture number 8. This plant has a completely green stem. What is the difference, what does this mean?
