4 par 38s on the way
I've had to use CFLs for heat because they run pretty cool. I paired it with these cheap lamps on amazon but they fit any standard socket. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007UV9VM/ref=oss_product. Soon my brother soon will be testing some of the PAR 38 red 660nm bulbs paired with the 630nm on some autos or a few smaller plants. They are really bright for just 15w and under $50. No matter what they'll come in handy as you expand. As a matter of fact I am SO glad I had them laying around while I've had all these troubles with Kessil. They saved me big time!!

In so many words I was trying to say that you can't cover that area for that amount of money.

The ufos barely do 4 sqft. The Spectra 280W for 650 does 16 square feet, So with both combined your still short and over budget.

You can cop 2 ISIS panels which my and maybe a UFO just for kicks (Maybe the UFO as side lighting - stretching the LED's thin will def have negative consequences on your penetration). To fully and effectively cover 24 sqft in full flower (which is when it counts) you will need to spend over 800 bucks to do it right.

Either shrink the grow area or enlarge the budget. What ever you do, don't cheap out as that usually leads to dissatisfaction.

If your talking about spending 1000 the doors blow wide open. 2-3 ISIS 170W panels, 4 240w Blackstars (24 sqft on the money), 1 ISIS and 1 357 Magnum, 2 Spectra 120W and a UFO, the list goes on.

I would just stray away from a solution that calls for cutting corners. Make it a 4x4 room first, cop a couple of ISIS, or 3x240W Blackstars, or the 280W spectra, or A magnum and try that out first. Get the money from that and start the 24 sqft room up properly.

can you guys please help me. my grow space is 4.5' x 5' x 7(WxLxH). can you guys tell me what lights would be decent from this in a price range of 800? i see that spectra, 357 mag and others are decent. i read that blackstar is decent, then i hear it isnt.. im confused... i have 800 to spend and want invest it the best that i can, please give me opinions on what i could get. thanks!

I have the same setup as you. I am running 2 blackstar 240's for 510 shipped. I want to put 3 total in next grow and 4 once I go perpetual(only so that I have 4 rotations). The 3 will do wonders though. I plan on doing 2 plants at 3-5 gallons each so I think I will be able to pull huge yields with 4 5gallon monsters.

nice, looks like a green sugar speckled eclaire goodness; on the outside as well as the in. :eyesmoke:
I had a hard time trimming them, everything I cut off was covered in trichs too. Made butter that caused me to hallucinate with 1 tablespoon. SO I made brownies, and being wiser this time, gave one to my wife as a guinea pig. She was high for 2 days (tripping on the first day too). This was my first time letting the butter sit for 24 hours and goddamn its stronger than the fucking hash. Probably has something to do with me dumping the trim and underdeveloped bud from the first 5 plants all into just 2 LBS of butter. Now i have 5 plants worth of trim/bud in the freezer, my man was supposed to cop some bubble bags, but no dice. I guess I will try my hands at ISO hash.

Here is my result, i used a 300w panel and 2 ufo 90w for four plants. I didnt use any co2 either or the scrog technique which i am going to give it a try next time. Also the leds were only 1 watt per bulbs and for my next grow i want to get at least 1.5 watt to 2 watt per bulb which should give me a little better result.
This is also my first grow....
This is Blue Dream strain and let me tell u... it was super bomb. The buds came out really really crystally and smelled amazingly good. Even the taste was bomb. I did use molasses toward the end which i am sure gave it a better taste.

I cant wait to grow again :)

Let me know you guys think its the first time i posted picture of my plants.

Ive used silk dresses from my love, they work enough to get some bubbley but not enough. sigh, and there is no other distribes. Sad cause if someone came out with screen bags cheaper than bubble bags. man o man, theyd be makin some dough.

so im thinking of getting a blackstar, do you think that its better to get two lower wattages so i can cover more space or should i use a 500-600 watt panel from the for 599 i can get a 600. but im worried about space. i also have a 180 clone model which emits more white and blue spectrum. i wanted to use this along with it. im not sure on the pull but i image its prolly 120. ive seen ppl use 430watt hps bulbs with blue and white additions and the yield is always so much more. they were also able to pull a full grow from seed. i dont know. i know i dont want to shell out tons of cash the first time around. these things are only going to get better with time. so why shell out early. get a blackstar. i saw a site that you can order your own diodes and make a solid state type light. soo much cheaper, but man talk about electrical fires, i dont even know how to take apart a bicycle... think its more trouble than its worth?

Well since the panels use a lot less power than their name implies, you should go with two 500-600 panels as long as your space is about 4x4 or larger

Mix a 500W (285W actual draw) and the 180W, you should be fine with that. The 600W uses 2W diodes and less spectra(3), the 500W uses 3W diodes and has like 6 spectra. SAME FOOTPRINT!

I'll never see that G again. Bought four Kessil MAGENTA (at least they started out that way) that I bought thinking they could enhance flowering but I'll never know because now they only emit a red. So much for a magenta spectrum.

Watch what these guys do toward the last minute of this video. After seeing this I think I'm going to do a little experiment on my Kessil's but I don't think I'll be putting my hand in the tank.

I spoke to Kessil again today and they would like to get a control on these defective units. If you haven't done anything to void your warranty you can contact David Lowry at [email protected] or his number is (510) 620-5105. He seems intent on doing what he can to make this right. I cant help but be frustrated at all the delays, but you could get replacement lights. It'll just be a bit of a wait, but new lights none the less. If for whatever reason you don't want to return them and want to experiment on them, post the serial numbers and I'll email them to Kessil in the hope that they can use them to track anymore of these bad lights.

That shit is fucking bullshit don't stop leaning on them till you get the new ones man....
Trust me I wont stop hounding them until i get my replacements, but I'm hoping that chazbolin also tries contacting them over the four defects he received. Sounds like he has something in mind that may void his warranty, which if I was going to do anything to void the warranty, it'd be a tear down to see whats inside. He received four defects on an order of four lights and I got 3 defects on an order of 5 so I'd say it's wide enough of an issue that Kessil users should be careful and for sure keep checking on your lights. My first defect went unnoticed for a couple of days.

Dude, I would just sign up to every forum imaginable and trash talk the shit out of them, go on to every hydrostore website and trash the shit out of them in the reviews. Copy and paste everything in an individual email to that douche and if he still hasn't done anything, just keep going and stop anyone you can from purchasing them, or better yet have people email that dude as perspective customers and have them ask about your scenario specifically, saying that they saw it on the web.

That's what I was thinking too, but I think my replacements are on the way, hopefully with a little something extra for my troubles. Doubt it though and I told them no I don't want t-shirts for my trouble. So far this is the only thread and forum I'm using to deal with this because I like this goal of LED unity, so I sent him a link. I would LOVE anyone who reads this thread to email him with concerns since part of my motivation now is to inform others so they don't experience the same frustrations I have had in the last two weeks. Anyone who wants to help address this situation can email their concerns to [email protected] or address them to [email protected]. With that said I do think Kessil is finally starting to get more concerned about this issue since it appears to be more widespread than they previously assumed. I wonder just how many people are using these defective lights and basing their assumptions of LED on their results which I imagine are rather poor if they have no blues for the veg stage. I know I didn't notice that mine were emitting only red at first because I have the kessils combined with other LED units. I noticed my defect because one corner of my grow was lagging. With that said, these lights are so intense in brightness. I would really like them to address my concerns so that feel confident buying more. I love the ones that are working and MAN are they working, but the last thing I need is more delays so of course I will be posting updates, but yeah I encourage everyone who has similar concerns to address them to Kessil.

Hey so what happened to your LEDs??
