mildew

Hi everyone, I am very new to this, this is my first attempt at growing, things seem to be going okay apart from a bit of mildew, i have some fungus tge stuff what someone gave me but the mildew keeps returning, what r people using to control this problem? what is the best cure for mildew?

sulphur burner not that expensive should sort it out but if using a hydro system make sure that you turn of all pump's while burning...........................................tyke.

Welcome to RollitUp. We are glad to have you. If you used your real life name as your screen name, I would register again and create a new, fictional one, just for your own protection.

Mildew can be a pain, but it's not too hard to get rid off. You have a couple of options... If it is a small patch, I hit it with H2O2, 3% hydrogen peroxide. I just spray the affected area and within 24 hours, it's gone. If you have it spread, you'll need to take more drastic action, such as spraying a fungicide with a mildew killer, such as Shultz' Fungicide 3.

If you are organic, you can use whole milk, diluted one part to 9 parts water. There are enzymes in the milk that eat and prohibit mildew. Another option is a sulfur burner, which is best used for big grows in greenhouses, unless you like the smell of fire and brimstone in your home.

Thanks for bringing that up. I meant to address that at the end of my previous post.

After this grow, I would scrub down my grow room very well and then hit it with Lysol disinfectant spray. Invest in some fans and a dehumidifier. If you grow from dispensary clones, learn to take cuttings and root them yourself, you may be bringing home the spores from outside your home.

a dehumidifier is the best option mate but some more fans to keep air circulation up also helps, even things like big bowls full of salt placed around ur grow are will draw moisture from the air, although with this method u gotta take the bowls out when the salts saturated, u dont need to dump it just put it sumwhere warm and dry and it can be reused. take it your from the uk? if you are this link is too a good thread

And fans, I say that form personal experience. If you run a sulpher vaporizer and leave your circulation/extraction fans running you can have major issues depending on the ambient temps of your room. In my case, one night for some as yet unknown reason all of the sulpher apparently condensed while circulating the room and absolutely fucking coated every plant on the front half of my garden as well as all of my fans. I lost about a half pound of smoke that was less than a week from harvest.

Nope, if you want to try something easy, dilute whole milk in distilled water and spray top and underside of leaves. It has enzymes that kill and prohibit mildew. This was first discovered by a Brazilian scientist, and the practice is now spreading to the grape industry, where entire orchards are sprayed as a preventive measure. Don't take it from me, go Google it up and read.

Don't use baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), go to a nursery and get potassium bicarbonate to control fungus outbreaks. It won't build up as sodium deposits, and it works very well. You could also get a sulfer vaporizer. Good luck.
