Quick question

hey everyone, i only have one seedling, have had it growing for about 4-5 days now.
its in a 15 gal aquarium with mylar lined walls, under 4 x 13w cool white CFL's (4500k i think) and 2 18w 5000k full spectrum 18" fluorescent bulbs.

its about an inch tall and has its set of round leaves and its first serrated leaves, under 18/6 light cycle im just wondering if i should go to 24/0?

i have 2 computer fans inside, 1 for intake and 1 blowing on the seedling.

does all this sound alright?

and also when should i start adding nutes/ what should i use? someone told me either to use worm castings or something with NPK of 20/20/20

any advice would be great thanks.:-P

what kind of soil are you using? typically you wouldnt want to add nutes until veg at least. 18 6 is fine 24 0 is ok too, both have advantages and disadvantages. i would say get higher powered CFL's in the 23 watt or more range with 6500 K color temp for veg then 2700 K for flower. how far are your lights from the plant?

its not a feminized seed, i had like 6 seeds germinating but none of the others worked.

my CFL's are mounted inside the aquarium about 2 inches from the top of my seedling and my fluors are ontop of the
tank shining down on them.
i used organic sterilized potting soil from my local nursery mixed w. some peat moss and perlite

How long did you germ? and what method did you use? Depending on strain it can take up to 3 weeks... & whats your lumen output? That's what matters more, It's recommended 4-500 lumens per sq ft for seedlings but quickly jumps to like 2500+ during veg, you've got to be the judge of what stage your plant is in

i have a total of 2080 lumens right now over a 1.5 foot space.
i germed in folded paper towel for a week, the sprout was half an inch long before i potted.

You're fine, make sure that the light is really close to your plant though & keep an eye on the temp. Praying for a girl for you haha

Sounds almost like my first grow with the addition of the mylar walls. I found that I needed to beef my bulbs up to the 23W CFL's. Started with 4. Your air is fine. Later on down the road when I started to flower, I switched to the lower K spectrum of cfls....I wish I would've done that in the beginning. It causes a different type of growth than the blue. In addition, while the higher "full spectrum" is the most energy intense light, plants work most efficiently down at the 2700-3500 mixture. The red light is more effective in the respiration process which ultimately, when your lights are off will contribute to the Carbon fixation making your plant structure grow larger. I noticed mine, under the 5000k had smaller leaves than the 2700-3500 but more of them. What you have will work for now, but from my first run, I found that the hype about blue spectrum was a waste of time and money.

i have already purchased my CFL's for flowering and they are 2700k's

also i just purchased a hygrometer so i will see my humidity and temp, if my humidity is low how would i increase that?

what if i were to do a mix of 2 4700k's and 2 2700k's would that be a good idea or not?
as long as im keeping my regular 18/6 lighting schedule it shouldnt go into flowering right?

okay so my hygrometer has been inside my tank for awhile now and its reading 90 degrees F and 30% humidity, i know thats not good how would i fix it?

Whoaaaa, you're running seriously hot, look into better ventilation & use the formula in the thread I posted before, and you should be alright. It's also really important during your 6 that the temp drop even a little more (which it should with proper ventilation & no light on) to mimic night time temperatures and give your baby a break
