i will be doing an experiment with several clones, once mothers are picked, on advance nutrients vs. fox farm.( more nute co.'s down the road) i would like to see if there is much of a difference with: vigor, production, bud development, odor, taste, & overall health.

i wanted to introduce myself to the thread. Hope this finds everyone well and free.


I bought a tent and parted it out on amazon instead of going with a htg kit. saved a bunch of money almost 300 dollars.. I dont have to worry about stealth because i live alone.

48" X 48" X 78" Hydroponics Grow Tent

19inches x 6 inches cool tube with 400 watt digital ballast.
(2) 6 inch inline fans
(1) 25 feet tubing
(1) Chaney temp/rh digital
(1) six inch clip on fan

can nyone help? I need to know if i can used dried up, but unused bio bizz all mix, im only using it for my shoots and then will change when repot, is this the wrong thing to do, i have more in the bag, the soil itself is dry and that`s basically it.
also i have a girl going at the moment, she is in her 8th week flower bubbilicious from nirvana , 250 watt mh halide for veg and hps for flowering, used bio bizz nutes and soil, grow tent 1x1x2. ther problem is that for the last 2 weeks she hasn1t got ny bigger or bulkier, i`ll be lucky to get an Oz off of her, i`m quite dissapointed but i know that she is a short girl in height, she has some buds and very small popcorn her trich`s appear to be neither milky or amber can`t really work it out because i`m using a magnify glass for the mo becaue i just don`t have the dollar to buy one! she is about 17 inches tall and there seem to be about 15-20 including the two or 3 i took for cutting`s but they wouldn`t take, bummer!!! the leaves are badly yellowing and the leaf edges are really crispy and curling, do i have long to go before i crop? i don`t no because were it is ny relly progressing, i think that i should do it 8-9 weeks or shall i go longer just to see but loose out on the THC for cannabanoids.

This is my first grow. I have the DarkRoom 60 (24" x 24" x 55.2"). I started with 2 CFL lights but recently got a 250w MH Conversion bulb and a 250w HPS for flowering.

My problem is that I woke up and checked the plant after having run the MH for about 12 hours and the plant was all droopy. Checked the soil and it was bone dry. So I watered it and in a few hours it went back to normal. Today I open the tent and it's starting to wilt again. Check the soil.......... dry again!


My question is: Is the light too powerful? I use to water once every 2-3 days.

Also, in the last pic the very tip is turning color. I've read this could be from nut burn or a lack of mag/cal. It is really only on this 1 leaf but 2-3 other one's tips look a little weird.

Edit: I feed the plant food every other time I water. Temp is 70-80 with 60% humidity

That is normal, as the mh and hps lights have way more heat that cfl. You have fine temps in your tent? You will have to keep a closer eye on the soil now, as this happening too often can slow down growth and cause stress. If your peak temps are under 85*f you should be fine.
What soil are you using? Some soils dry out faster than others.

yo what up fellas, this is my first tent grow.

i have a 4x8x8 tent that is the flower tent, i have 8, 5gal planter with a 80gal res..also have to have a chiller because i am doing DWC. i have 3, 600watt light running on the quantum ballasts. i have a PLC coordinating all the events that happen in a grow.

i also have a 2x4x8 tent as a cloner tent. i have 2 planters using a ebb&flow setup one mothers in 5"netpots and the other is clones in 3" netpots. also have an ez-cloner (x30).

Thanks for the reply. Temps run from 78-84. The soil is from Home Depot. It's Scott's Premium Potting Soil. I guess I just thought a good watering would last at least 18 hours. I would have to get up early just to water the damn thing lol! I got the light right before I was about to flower so I have the hps in there now. The plant is doing a lot better. The conversion mh bulb was just insane. It was so intense it just burned up all the water. That's just my newb guess though haha

Your shit looks good to me man... I'm running a 250w MH hooked up to an inline fan/exhaust in a small tent... im doing that on seedlings and they are doing great on had 250w mh since day 1.

I'm posting pics in a little while when they look a bit more interesting

i been running a 600w mh as you know verde lol, with the mh you want to keep it well away in the early stages (not to far or they'll strech) i gues ones you done it the first time you get to know how far to keep it, its better to get them babys used to the mh from begining it safes you proplems as you will have to make ur plants adjust to the mh later if you was to use weaker light, and i never had any problems with the mh it keeps my plants nice and short

Thanks man! I'm glad I didn't end up buying the wrong light. Got it from htg supply. Only shitty thing about it is the light is permanently connected to the ballast. I had to pull the light fixture apart and stuff it through one of the big vents in the bottom of the tent LOL.

Yeah I think the plant was like "holy fucking shit the world is on fire!!!!!". I'll know better the next time. I actually just switched to 12/12 so I just put in the hps bulb. The plant is a lot happier. Doesn't seem like the hps is as intense as the mh.

I'm new to the forum, and stumbled upon this searching for similar setups of mine. I'm using a 2x4x5ft mylar tent, with (4) 28W CFLs, and 2 phillips plant lights (1)150W and (1) 75W. 4 plants, all growing in DWC 5gal hydro-buckets. Strains are as follows: 1-Jack Herer, 1-Purple #1, 1-Kali Mist, and 1-Super Lemon Haze all feminized seeds courtesy of the single seed centre. Will have a grow journal posted soon on the Hydroponic/DWC forum.

@DeviLettuce I am glad to see you went right for the hid lighting instead of playing around. The grow looks good. When my plants dry out to quick I usually re-pot to larger pots to keep them from drying too fast, helps growth as well. Roots can circle in smaller pots.

mine neither she seemed to grow better when in veg then flower she`s a bubbilicious and same set up 250 watt hps, but she dosn`t seem to grow -up i have some new pics to show how bad her leafs are, but bearing in mind she is in her 8th week, so i know they should drop off anyway. how do i know when she is ready when the buds are already brown, and seem to have gone past the 3/4 stage of colouring, that people advise but she dosn`t look like it`s swollen up enough, friday will be start of week 9 but do i let her go past this stage? Hmmmmmmmmm......... caught between a rock n a hard place!

Thanks man! Yeah, I'm wondering if I should transplant again. I think the container it's in now is 2.5-3 quarts. Is it safe to transplant once the flowering cycle has been started? My tent is only about 5 feet tall.

just thought id add some pics ov my recent grow,its 3 big devil and 1 ll diavolo by attitue,they are under 1 200w 6400k blue and 5 20w 2700k,and 2 24w t5 lights on each side,they are approx 9 days old and on a 24/0 schedule,i plan on adding a 200w 2700k in about 2 weeks time,i dont no if this much lighting will be enough so all help would be gratefull,i previously done 8 big devils undeer a 600w hps and all yeilded 2 zips with one giving me just uner 3,so im curious to see how the cfl set up will compare,please feel free to have your say and input,cheers and peace out
