hello i have purple in my stem wondering if its a problem or is it just the strain im growing afghan
purple stems why ??? please help pictures!

ok if it is phosphorous deficiency is that a big problem because im trying to use this has a mother im a new grower and i need a female mother to clone off any helpful tips?

I think in this case it's strain dependent, my afghani has purple stems and it's not deficient in phosphorous.

That usually happens when the plant gets to cold when the light is shut off

If it was a deficiency, you would know by the appearances of other leaves, mostly starting at the bottom of the plant. More than likely Rosecity and you have something similar going on.

I'm not really seeing anything wrong. You talking about the purple coloration of the leaf stem? If so, I think that's normal.
Purple color of the main stem is usually P or MG deficiency, but your plant looks pretty damn healthy to me. I'd think you'd
be seeing other symptoms if a deficiency was the problem. Hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

Actually, lower temperatures slow the plant's ability to utilize phosphorous and it creates a deficiency. If temperature was the cause, the entire plant would more than likely be exhibiting the trait, not just a few leaves.

I believe Serapis and Rosecity are correct in the diagnosis of the purple being strain related. If Afghani based strain, or other indica dominant especially.
I have had many a plant that had this as a trait, most of them being indica dominant. The leaf stems and veins would purple, but the plants had no other symptoms indicating phosphorous deficiency.
And as you stated, your temps stay steady around 76, you have no other signs appearing on the leaves, so I don't think it's phosphorous deficiency. I am leaning towards Serapis'/Rosecity's diagnosis myself.

Mine is usually 75-85 degrees. 85 when the light is on and than it drops to about 75-78 without the light on.
