Dude we're all lazy ass stoner's! We need link!View attachment 1447108View attachment 1447110View attachment 1447112View attachment 1447114View attachment 1447116I guess i shouldve clarified myself. I do have the drop-in color tester, the cheap one, i just dont do it every time. doesnt seem necessary cause i know what the results are gonna be. however the ppm meter is gonna be used on the next grow for sure. did anyone check out my shit?
Thanks Weedler !Looks fantastic Flo! "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Flo Grow again."
To be honest D-Mac, if you peep the beginning of the thread you'll see a "trap-door" on the bottom left corner of my lid.hey bro, your shit looks real good. ive got a DWC system in some five gallon buckets and its kind of a pain in the ass already to change the water every week, and ive only got one plant per bucket. im curious, what is your method when you put new water in. is it a two person job? right now i just put an empty bucket next to the plant and lift it and the roots in the empty one and rinse out the other bucket.
Nice ass SCROG JS !Hey Flo I need a sounding board regarding defoliation in a ScrOG in 12/12.
Just before I went 12/12 I went through all of the plants and cut out all of the fan leaves that were stuffed under the 1 1/2" high screen. Within 4 days the plant generated all new fan leaves with the majority of them sprouting out above the screen. Taking away so much leaf material was frightening but in the end the plants responded with huge growth!
As you can see, my ScrOG has exploded and just from a quick count across the canopy I count at least 25 colas! A good thing!
In the second pic, you see me holding back a small part of the plant exposing even more bud sites starting to explode just above the screen as well, as many as 40 more of these underneath. But these lower bud sites are being shaded from the huge fan leaves growing out of each of the top bud sites.
So the question is, would you feel comfortable cutting the fan leaves away only from the top bud sites. Will this affect the nourishment of the tops or will the lower fan leaves support them just fine as well as giving more lumens to the lower sites coming up through the canopy? There was no recourse during vegetation but I'm not sure about cutting during 12/12.
I guess I could cut a few and observe. Just wondering if you have any thoughts or insight.
TJP is right on with that advice.d. mcandrews, if nothing else you need to get the ph drop testers with the color chart so you can at least keep them close to optimal. You can find them online or in a lot of pet stores, just make sure they check the ph range you're shooting for.
Not to sound like a jerk, but good luck keeping beneficial bacteria colonies in dwc. Unless it's recirculating (correct me if it is, I'm browsing on my cell phone) an air stone bubbling enough to grow a plant will prevent most bacteria or microbes from reproducing, colonizing, and surviving. Think about the difference of life and conditions in an aquarium. I personally don't believe in drifting pH, hydroponic horticulture books teach a pH of 5.8 to 5.9 during vegetative stages, 5.9 during flower,6.0 in late flower, and even as high as 6.3 during flush, but I rarely go past 6.1. Source for pH information is jorge cervantez's medical marijuana horticulture growers bible, most recent edition. Drifting your pH above 6.0 is not recommended in the book actually, it says you can go between 5.5 and 6.5 but slow and steady with as little fluctuation as possible is always the best way. Always be careful adding pH up and down, adding it to quickly can kill whatever bacteria or microbes might be clinging on, despite the air stone. My plants sit in 2 gallon tanks and drink 3 gallons per week. I don't have to do any water changes.
You have bigger tanks which should produce bigger plants and if your environmental conditions are optimal your plants should drink the same ratio as mine. As long as pH and PPMs stay consistent through the drinking process even with top offs you know the plants are eating and drinking in a balanced fashion. Spikes or gradual climbs in PPMs mean the plant is leaving certain nutrients behind which eventually lead to climbs in PPMs as you top off your tanks. To solve this, allow your pH to drift up and down between 5.5 and 6.5. This allows the plant to take up a wider spectrum of nutes.
Ask anyone who maintains an aquarium if they do a complete water change every week! I have a 15 gallon fresh water tank...I don't think so.
A properly maintained water system will eventually establish a colony of beneficial bacteria and microbes. These microbes (although not effective against bugs) will eat all of the rotting material in your water including all the bits of roots which fall off along the way.
Observe your water throughout. It should be a bit cloudy and only bits of fresh root material floating around. That's OK as long as you don't see any dead brown bits. It should smell fresh, almost no smell. Your roots should smell like fresh lettuce or alfalfa sprouts.
The question you should ask, if it's been 10 days since your last water change of 5.8 pH and PPM of 900 and today your water reads 5.9 pH and PPM of 910 with clear, fresh smelling water, what do you want to do?
I know what I'd be doing!
Thanks !Wow Flo. That looks awesome. I like the time lapse because I'm at Day 18 and now I know what to expect in 7 more days!!!
Good lookin out DJ !holy hell..ive been gone for too long...last time i saw these they was still babies...see what happens when you go a month without internet....but looking great man...should be a killer harvest with that one...+rep
In all honesty Justin, I direct everyone to Joey Weed and his official F2's of original Bros Grimm/Mr Soul Cinderella 99 !can you tell me a good place to get Cinderella-99 seeds or where you got yours?
LMAO.... Thanks TJP !Damn flo!!! My c99 didn't plump up that nice, i'm jealous. "cute" is out the window, they are looking freakin beautiful!
Gotta spread around the love before I can give you more rep, but it's coming!
Thanks for the compliment and the peek, Joz !Not to sound like a jerk, but good luck keeping beneficial bacteria colonies in dwc. Also, I'm not saying nothing is gonna survive the air stone, but I don't think it's enough to see a real benefit, at least I haven't seen a difference in any of my DWC buckets.
On another note: so far this has been a beautiful grow and I'm glad I caught a glimpse.
Thanks TJP, I appreciate that !awesome bro....... great job
Thanks again, KR !very sexy! how many days into flower did you end up chopping? can you give a smoke report on the samples you pulled vs. the main cut?
