i've heard miracle gro get blamed for a lot of things but this is the first for the hermies. i don't care for the mg organic, it got to compact if it dried out and was a bitch to rehydrate. i perfer the mg potting soil mix with nutes. i add quite a bit of perlite and i just give my girls straight tap water for about the first month. you'll be able to tell when it's time to start adding nutrients when the lower fan leaves start yellowing. don't let the mg haters scare you into buying over priced soil mixes from the grow stores.

Love Miracal grow soil an nutes.:-o
I use the organic for indoor.
For outdoor the Moisture control its much better due to coco coir added to hold water better..

I agree with what kevin said above.

It dosent cause hermi plants lol.
Ive seen test grows where MG soil out grew the Fox farms.

But befor you buy soil look around the bags an under an inbetween for fungus gnats, if you see any shop else were.
3out of 4 stores near me are plagued with gnats.....

MG organic is good stuff but it's really dense and needs to be lightened by some light warrior or perlite and it is also really hot and will burn seedlings and small plants. The thing about Miracle Grow is it is a subsidiary of Monsanto and most people don't like supporting their practices by buying their products.

im so glad i made this thread. All the info is very useful. I was planning on germinating and potting them till they got a good one foot and putting them outdoors in native soil. Should i pick up some perlite and blend in with native soil and add the organic to pot them and them make a bigger batch to move outdoors?

Perilite is great to loosen the soil up, but be sure to cover it up with native soil.
If that stuff is visible on the surface its like screaming "Im growing weed here"
Cover it up with alot of naitive soil to camo it up.

Im planning on mixing half Mg soil an half native soil (soil is expensive)from the bottom of a flood area that gets alot of water.
(Just like the nile its full of organic goodness.)

Then im going to mix in about.....
25% perilite
an 25% composted cow manure.

MG that contains time released nutes will still be releasing nitrogen when you want to flower. It can produce a leafy, harsh tasting plant. The organicMG is not the best but doesn't have the time released nutes.

MGO garden soil is not a potting mix and wont drain well in pots. This may not apply to you. But it might be helpful to mix it with a medium percentage of MG seedling mix (lots of drainage fiber) and some vermiculite/perlite and some worm castings. Otherwise MGO garden has some good organic content and should be a decent growing medium if amended to increase drainage and aeration.

no it wouldn't! FDD doesn't use Miracle Gro. His thread talks about using all the stuff that companies like AN come at you with. FDD has been around the block, and this is without a doubt not his first rodeo!

People who use Miracle Gro do so because they don't know better, or they just can't afford anything else. People who stand by their Miracle Gro final products do so because they don't know any better. Not to sound redundant, but Miracle Gro was not made for cannabis growing!
