I chop at the first hint of amber and it is the only thing I go by for harvest...and that is for hybrids and indicas...on real sativas at 10-15% milky and the rest clear with no amber...in my findings amber means degradation so in hycrids and inidas all cloudy so I am getting all I can...hope it helps

I can't say my friend...yes they look good and they do look well developed but without seeing the trichomes I can't say....In my experiences most of the so called other ripeness signs don't mean crap....the pistils browning or redding, swollen calyxes, pistils withdrawing etc sometimes correlate to trichome coloration but not always.. I have found actually that most times it has gone too far byt the time that happens....I dont understand why people go to 30-50% amber when it is fact that amber means thc degradation to the lesser cbn which is the lazy do nothing buzz...if one desires couchlock themn grow a couchlock strain...why diminish the potency to make it couchlock?

So my advise it to get a scope for $10 and eliminate the guessing.

hope it helps

this is true. i honestly dont like couchlock. im more of a fan of a nice functional creative social motivational high. not a couchlock stone
i guess i figure that since they are getting chopped a week early they shouldnt start getting to the point of degradation, i could be and proabbly am wrong though

and grow sativas....the good real high...not stoned...BIG DIFFERENCE!! I know that is what you have so honestly you should harvest at 10-15% cloudy the rest clear...if they are pure or near pure...and should take quite a while to ripen as well...get the scope dude

Also check out World of Seeds as they have quite a few outstanding sativas and fems at that...and their genetics are rock solid and potent....great breeders who do it right

heres a lil update of where theyre at. they are getting chopped this saturday but still have a bunch of white hairs. i know pistils dont mean everything but its making me nervous. i was at 10/14 but now in fear that they still wont even be close to ready i put them down to 8/16 today

now i hear about flushing and how important it is in hydro, and to some degree in soil. but i also hear that with organic nutes it not as necessary, i fed last saturday not paying attention to the schedule and the soil is still wet but i wanna flush. how necessary is it if im only using big bloom and tigerbloom? since big bloom is organic but tiger bloom is organically based but not full organic. i need these questions answered. plus rep op?

do you think theyre gunna turn out bad?

Itsa a plant not a toilet.....https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/409622-truth-about-flushing.html#post5323751...read that

My advice...turn the lights off until you chop Saturday....poor ice water on your roots.....and they will still knock your socks off...given a proper slow dry/cure trim...you will be impressed...shoulda had the lights at 8/16 when I first suggested it but you will be suprised

i should have, but the guy who showed me most of what i know about growing to this point said it was a bad idea cause of stress, so i tried to meet half way. so what will the lights off do? and what about the ice water?

will induce stress which will speed up ripening, increase resin production, and no light will also greatly diminish thc degradation to cbn as well as increase terpines which will enhance and multiply the loved sativa high

Stress is needed as well as desired now...especially with an early harvest

really? so what else besides just cutting the lights completely off will help at this point. and how much of a difference will it make as compared to 8/16. sorry for all the questions. like HOW big of a difference will it make in general. like how much maturity can i expect?

it will increase ripeness and potency but reduce yield by about 2-3 days growth...nil in comparison to the potency increase...dude u r about to kill them...how stressful will that be???

Not enough time for the stress to be detrimental my friend..will only help now...remember you r killing early... i do that and more even when harvesting at the proper time...think of it as a lil something for nothing...no light is free...ice water really cheap

@ illumination well i think there isnt too much more growth left to be had at this point. this could be good cause ive heard alot of people say that 48 hours of darkness before stresses the plant into increasing resin production so that could be good right or is that not specifically true?

@chronic, thanks man, owell that doesnt mean this is my last grow though!

will there be any mold issues since it the soil is currently wet and theyll be in the dark? also it should be a plus since it will get really cold in the tent if the lights off
