Anyway to brighten you day I bring you a picture of my "Insane Lady". Basically I screwed up. When she was sprouting from seed her seed stuck to her cotyledon so I tried a bit of surgery and slipped and cut her little head off. Surprisingly she survived it..however she has been growing strangely ever since. She actually looks like she will be a good producer (from her preflowers). She is a c99 Hybrid. These pics are from a few weeks ago. She is much bigger and healthier now, but still a strange looking plant.

That's not any type of nutrient problem. just a childhood accident. it's still going to grow strong, it's just going to look crazy. I'm interested in how the flowers will look. I've seen some interesting things with retard plants that went through some things... If there's a way I can follow that plant, you should keep me updated, Roland.

Good Mornig Uncle Ben,
I have been wanting to try your topping tech but not sure how to do it with clones.
In readin up pon how to do it you say top at the 4th node, how does this work for clones?
I mean I trim all nodes and leaves except for the top node, now from there do I wait for the 4th node and top?

Thanks man and duly noted. But the only thing it would save me on is one less plant to water and feed and water is free. Actually she has developed 2 distinct tops and is coming on strong. Im as shocked as anyone.

One last question about feeding. I still have not fed at all (my soil was enriched) yet the plants are showing no sign of needing nutrients now at day 12 of 12/12. Should I feed even if they dont seem to need it, or leave well enough alone? (and I realize you dont know the enrichment levels of the soil, but this is a general question. If they dont look like they need it do you feed anyway at a certain point in flowering??).

Thanks UB and I hope that douche trying to derail this epic thread goes away...like right now. Its possible he works for Advanced Ripoffs and doesnt like that you are spreading the truth of using non-"canacentric" products.

Well, generally speaking, don't fix what's not broken. If they are growing fine, then they have what they need. I have grown pot from start to finish with nothing more than a custom soil mix and no nute additives.

Going from veg through the end with no additional ferts is generally how I start out with an unfamiliar strain. That gives me a good baseline for what the plant can do, each successive grow thereafter I push them a little harder each time, eventually reaching critical mass (or close to it). From there it's small tweaks here and there, but I get bored easily so I always have a couple "test" plants going too.

edit: I actually meant to say going through veg and flower with no additional fert. Just what's in my soil.
 
I am not falling for the "Hype" of glossy mags and ads and fancy schmancy names with big prices.... alfalfa pellets.... good shit for your plants.... Get like a 25 lb bag for 10 bucks,,,, and that is some serious amont of bunny food... enough for like 300 plants or more....

Voodoo juice sure looks alot like humic acid with some myco spores.... do the pricing... No thanks I will make my own
 
I thought I read somewhere that the plant will be finished once pretty much all the leaves have yellowed. Now I know you crop based on trichome color, but im wondering if this random "fact" I read around here is wrong. Uncle Ben your saying that your leaves should stay nice and green up until you cut, Im just making sure this is correct so I can stop this confusion ><.
 
Basically, yellowed leaves towards the end are a result of low N feeding all thru flower. If you look at most nutes for flowering plants, the N is very low and the plant will outpace the ammount of N it's getting unless the grower is supplementing some in. If your plants start yellowing, just give em a light feeding with a grow or all purpose fertilizer to fix the problem.

Just bought a 50lb. bag of horse cubes for $12 from my local feed store. They are large cubes of compressed alfalfa.

Been meaning to visit the feed store to see what goodies they have . What all is the alfalfa cubes good for UB ? What else can be useful at the feed and tack stores ?
