Need help deciding on set up...

I'm a new member here, and i am looking to start some growing of my own. I want to grow no more than 1 plant at a time, but i am curious as to how big of a cabinet i will need. Im currently looking at around 3-5 feet in height with just over a foot in depth. Is this a possibility? I know that the plants can get fairly big even with LST until flowering...just looking for help.

hey man check out my sig ( the little link below my post )..its a cab about 3 feet high and 2 feet wide..i got 2 plants goin in there very comfortably.gotta bunch of space left too.. the sky it the limit really

Sweet....ill have to check out the whole thing today. I was planning on getting the unit sometime this week just not entirely sure when i will have the time. I'll def. keep posting tho with this, but if there are any other members who wanna give their advice....i'd more than appreciate what you have to say.

It's completely possible! Check my journal, it's EXACTLY what you describe. I've got some Violator Kush going right now. :bigjoint:

Quick question for all u experts out there....one of my good friends has started a seed and he germinated for two days and planted last monday morning so a week ago yesterday. He is kind of worried about it and not sure if its going to continue growing. Its completely green but he says that it only has a pair of regular leaves and then a pair of oval flat leaves. I guess he wanted to know if that was normal and about how long its gonna take before it shows some kind of life.

ABSX, I like the second cabinet you found. Seems to be a little roomier than the first. As for your friend, He's a-okay. The oval flat leaves that you're explaining are the cotyledon, they're not actually "leaves" and are present within the seed. It's kind of a jump starter for your plant. It'll grow just fine :bigjoint:

Sweet ill pass that along....does it usually take over a week to show any real growth after the first leaves and cotyledon break through?

OK! was not able to get to the store yesterday to look at the cabinet....I really need to see it in person so that i can actually see what I'm dealing with. I'm really excited bout getting it (if its the cabinet i want for sure) and starting to put everything together. Then i can start the grow and see where it takes me. I already have plenty of seeds that i ordered but nothing to put them in yet at the moment and i naturally do not want to waste them by just planting them somewhere. Got a lot of work ahead of me.

Planning on going to the store tomorrow to pick up what i will need to get this started. I am still kind of unsure on what items to get so if someone could please post a proposed shopping list i would greatly appreciate it. So far i just will be getting a cabinet. i already have one computer fan obviously will need something more, along with reflective material and lights and a pot and soil. Anything else?

So good news.....finally got my grow cab and have almost finished it. What i need now is somehow install the lights (ideas for this are more than welcome) and install fans. If you wanna see what the cab looks like, the link above will give you a general idea, but ill post up pics of what i have tonight....also my boy i discussed earlier is giving me his plant since my set up is looking promising. Hope everyone checks back often. Also ill also post up pics of the plant as well.

for your lights if your using cfls you can buy some power strips and buy the 2 prong adapters that plug into the power strip & other side is a female light bulb end for a bulb what i would do is buy some light wyes also so you can put more bulbs off 1 unit on one unit on mine i have 3 wyes so it increases mine to 4 bulbs per unit pretty easy install you will need a intake & exhaust port as well to exchange air for reflection can use mylar or even paint the inside with a bright white color

ok as promised here are some pics....the first ones will be of my cab and what i have installed so far. The two side walls that have the reflective material installed is not secured yet so i can remove that when i install the fans no problem. My only worry is how to do that as i am not very electrically inclined lol. Also for lights i have been using a power strip with the 2 prong adapters but i have had bad luck as they sometimes fall out of the power strip. Trying to resolve this! The final two pics are of my lady, although the last and final pic is kind of blurry. Any thoughts and suggestions are more than welcome since this is my first grow.

Hopefully not too soon.....but started LST this morning as well as watered....will post pics later tonight. Also unfortunately stem is very skinny probably due to not air ventilation? I have the time to install a small computer fan into my cab just not sure how to go about doing it and powering it up. Thought about buying small hand held fan to place inside, is that worth it?

Well guys its been quite a while...since ive been gone i have transplanted my lady. Her growth has pretty much stopped and its honestly not much bigger than the last pic that i posted. Not sure why but i thought it was because of the pot i had her in. Its been a few days since the transplant and she still looks good a little yellow in the leaves but not much. Waiting to see how things go. Is it normal for such slow growth?
