TshirtNinja... Have you started your LED grow yet or does it start in April.. Would love to see some room setup pics if you have to share.> Im looking for ideas in a small area and LED's have my attention..

I watch ebay for used LED lights but have yet to see any blackstars there. If people were unhappy with them they would be unloading them, especially with how many have been sold.

making an led light for veg or for bloom is nonsense the sun dont change photosynthesis is photosynthesis target the right wavelengths and give them enough power and youre set to grow i proved that with the panel i bought full veg and bloom with a single panel and it was successful as hell

Check out my coco & LED closet grow journal. I've got 2 autoflowers under it vegging. Will be using the LED all the way through. First time grow experiment looking for tips and feedback

I believe Blackstar has a model specifically for veg, I would assume other companies do to...I just haven't heard much about them yet. I would like a model specifically for veg and a flowering model as well ;)

The new grow starts in April. The setup will be 3 240w blackstars across the 4x4 secret jardin tent. My exhaust system is a windtunnel 4" 200 cfm online fan on a speed control. Connected to that is an elf carbon scrubber connected to 6" ac ducting to reduce noise to a wisper. I already own everything minus one 240w unit which I'm ordering soon. I think I might pop some extra beans and put 9 in my tent. Was thinking of doing 6 of my regular autoflowers and bust out my super autos as well. I'm using 3 gallon smart pots for air pruning of the roots. I will be using the full fox farm lineup. I generally use unfiltered tap water with no issues. I have a decent seed stock so this should get interesting. I've learned a lot from this first grow and I plan on getting 7-9 oz out of this setup in 12 weeks.

It'll pick up again soon. There was allot of major purchases made by users in February that are early to mid veg. I'm waiting on a back ordered ISIS that's supposed to arrive this week. :?: Once it doe's I'll be flowering in a side by side shootout between ISIS-fx1 and 2 magenta KESSILs. Comparing price not wattage. For me, Kessil has to really outperform the ISIS since 2 kessils (crappy 1 year warranty) run between $480-600 and the ISIS is $399 with + 3 year warranty . Same grow tent, same strain, raised from the same batch of clones. Everything equally controlled with only a difference in lights. I have to assume there is no way ANY 70w between 2 kessils will match up against a 170w panel. Due to my issues with Kessil, my brother will running the comparison so that it stays objective.

Ok, me too being a very curious individual to the LED world, seeing the Supernova LED advertised like crazy in magazines. I took a shot and purchased the 270 Watt Supernova LED and lucky for you,am running my first test for flowering starting Tuesday. I have vegged many plants with the Supernova LED, however I just got slammed with a huge load of clones which sadly out of the bunch I can only keep 16 because size of the room. The good news, because of the misfortune of losing the remainder (thanks to Spider mites setting our flowering females back), this gave me an opportunity to test the LED for flower which I have always wanted to do. Only set back is I have CO2 in my main flower room, so a huge draw back will be that these under the LED wont have any because I had to split my Veg Room. They will be grown using an Ebb and Flow system and GH Nutes. As I stated previously I have used the LED on Vegging plants and it works extremely well and hasn't let us down. Obviously in doing research on the Supernova, I searched everywhere and couldn't find any valuable feedback at the time when I purchased it about the light not performing. I seen YouTube videos of people saying I got "X" amount of ounces but never seen a growth through a cycle or read a grow journal on one. So I will post on this page 2 Flowering cycles of the 270 watt (advertised to put out more lumes than a 1000 watt HPS in a 5X5 area), first without CO2 and one with. This will help answer more questions. Only draw back is this first crop has a variety of strains, including: 2 Diamond OGs, 3 Purple Kush, 5 Sweet Island Skunks, and 6 Chem Dogs. The second batch will include: 3 Purple Kush, 5 Blackberry Kush, and 8 Diamond OGs. In the backround of the first set you will see a "kush" plant in soil I which will flower as well and has been with them the entire veg cycle because I got it as a seed. In the second you will see a Blue Dream plant I picked up as a clone, and it will start with the 2nd group. Hopefully this answers a lot of questions, honestly I am not hurt if it turns out the way it is said to, not produce nearly as much as HPS. But hey if the results are the same or close too, it maybe worth trying to save on that killer electric bill. Either way I know this kicks ass for vegging and I can stand by that, because I have turned many growers to this just by seeing nice bushy stocked mature plants by using it just for that. I will post picks on my home space here as well as try and load them on the thread. Enjoy!

Awesome... glad to see some more journals popping up and trying new companies

I just put together a basic journal on my grow... found in my sig... 2 days into flower
but still waiting on many things in the mail but got too anxious and had to start my journal already lol

Very dark purple in there! Whats with that? More... dark spectrums/ones we can't see or some odd effect of the camera?
