2x600w Ultra Sun super HPS's & I was using 1 HPS to MH conversion bulb but I stopped using it after my 1st grow because the HPS was producing more light and better lumen output. Using 1 HPS side by side with the MH produced great looking plants & leggy plants at the same time. Unless you have a MH that will match your HPS side by side, use just HPS's. I read later on that conversion bulbs put out less total lumens so I believe this was a detriment to my grow. For seed starting & cloning I was using a Sun Blaze 24 but have recently overhauled that to the Sun Blaze 48. I will DEFINITELY invest in a 2nd Sun Blaze 48 to veg my mother plants with during my perpetual harvest because within 48 hours I noticed my seedlings had shot up by at least 1/4 to 1/3 of their total size!!!

awesome all....so far seems like sunmaster's are the takers....any opinion on dual spec to separate HPS and MH?
depends whether you're talking about running MH and HPS together.. This would be the perfect way.

Personally i have and do use a sunmaster dual 600w , but at present i am testing a cheaper 600w HPS without the dual spectrum which my local hydro store asked me to test for them.

I WILL BE SWITCHING BACK.

Sunpulse PulseStarts are some of the greatest bulbs to use in Digi ballasts , Sooooo many choices on Kalvin colours , however like i mentioned they only work with digi ballasts and i'm using Magnetic so icant say from experience only from research.

Thanks! + Rep for you. I just bought a 1000W light. Everything is good, but I'm thinking the bulbs are cheap so after this grow (my first) I'm planning on replacing those with good bulbs and have been wondering what to get.

As far as light goes, that's why I went big. I'm not planning on having a lot of plants or anything, so I wanted maximum yield so I spent the $ on a 1000Watt system. Obviously I have nothing to compare it to, but I'm looking to see how it turns out. Just bag seed at this point, but even that will be better than nothing. Plus if grow right even swag is ok if it's dried and cured right. I'm going with the big dogs next time. Buying seeds soon. Just not sure what strands I'm looking to go with. I'm psyched though. I like my new light so far and the plants are coming along nicely. I have 8, but figuring on 3 or 4 being female. We'll see what I get from it. I'm hoping the 1000W hooks me up. To me, if More Light = More Bud, then that's exactly why I went with this light. It's a little more difficult with temps, but I don't have a big problem with that in this room. Especially during the cold seasons.

I've had great success using the Digilux 600w HPS & MH bulbs. However I will say that I'm open to trying new bulbs because I've heard somewhere that Digilux has been unreliable, but this hasn't been the case for me.

I really like the spectrum of the Digilux bulbs, circa 2009-2010 they had the best spectrum for digital HPS/MH bulbs, I'm not sure if that is the case anyone, so people can feel free to enlighten me.

Edit:

The 600w Digilux HPS puts out 95,000 lumens, which is uber efficient.

I have used them all.. Digilux, SuperRed, HortiLux and I use now $27 600w knock offs from some hydroponic store in NY that advertised on ebay, they work as expected no more or less yield then bulbs costing 4x the amount.

I document results eachtime I changed, and to me the result was the same, save your money buy a decent bulb and you will get the same results. Just like the rest of the MMJ hype, stoned growers praising or scolding advice... if the plants are healthy then it really doesn't matter or wont justify the ridiculous price point of the "hyped" bulbs.

I mean you see them all praising this, scolding that.. yet when they show their plants they look nothing like mine or someone in general who has been "learning and evolving" as a grower... sad. Kind of the same people who argue about flushing or not-flushing, defoliating etc... yadda yadda yadda
