Cool thread, never seen that technique before. I am going to try it on some of my yard plants. I have ezcloner & Im addicted to it. But love gardening & to make cuttings of all plants. Thanks again for sharing. Peace & Happy Growing!

So, just gonna throw out an interesting theory I may try...... Im gonna do this on an already topped plant, on the two main parts, and then shove those into the ground causing the plant to have 3 root systems..... what do you think?

Great idea, but its not new. Look into MRS (multiple root sites). Nonhater did it, not sure if it took. give it a go, it really cant hurt much.

hey ladies and gents, not had the best results so far but i thought i'd share :) one went very limp and snapped of with ease so i was left with 2. one root riot (rapid rooter) and one rockwool.



well it dont look brilliant i'll agree but it seems to have worked. i forgot to mention that i find my lemon haze cut the hardest to clone out of everything i've ever cloned. 2 weeks even in optimum conditions, others will root around it lmao.

can anyone see the little black bobbly things? i used a piece of rockwool maybe i shouldnt have lmao might just bin these attempts off and try again with some new rockwool i have somewhere, might even give it a weak peroxide bath before using?


not so good but gonna keep it going and check at the weekend.

well you will definitely have learned something out of this. i thought about using moss, because it is so airy.

hey gumball i transplanted thedm and 1 didnt make it. it was 2 weeks and the way i had it wrapped i couldnt see roots on it. i pulled it apart and it had a couple of roots so i just cut it and planted it. it died within a couple of days. the other 1 i let go about another week and when i pulled it apart it had a few more roots not real impressive though i transplanted it about a week ago. im gonna take some pics tomorrow i will post it. it will work i didnt make good choicves when finding a site. i will do it better next time. here is a link to my journal i will post them there

Sound good hammer. I imagine this is a technique which requires much skill and practice!!

yea im thinking so but am gonna try it again it is a good way to hide clones they aint a plant untill its seperated so its an extra uncountable plant love it

same here gonna try again but be a bit more "clean" about it


Lemon Haze clone on the right, has just started growing again a few days ago.


This was the roots a few days after the last pic (notice the roots near the plastic)


Root Riot root. Kinda worked but the top looked the least healtiest so i binned this one as i only wanted one.

so to sum it up lol 1 didnt make it from almost the start but possibly 2 could of made it with a bit of nurturing :)

I'll deff give it another go sometime and come back and post the results :)

yeah i take it ur over the pond from me? in the uk they are called root riots but over there pretty much the same product is the rapid rooter.

but yes i did get better results from the rockwool but i'm not sure that my method was correct on them both or even the same type thing so i wouldnt go by that lol :)

yea im in u s michigan i have some rooter plugs and havent used any yet i just built a clone machine havent had much luck cloning but now i am . but i do want to do this air layering

dont know if anyone is reding this thread anymore but here it is. the g/c air layer i did the other one is still alive. i just transplanted it the other day.

I've done this method of propagation on other plant materials. Mostly woody-ornamentals such as Viburnum, Dogwood, etc. and some annuals like tomato and peppers. This will be my first attempt on cannabis. I have used sphagnum moss in the past so I used it this morning for 2 cuttings with the foil-pouch method on a good looking Purple Maroc mother. Should be easy to get some good, healthy clones vs. the rather dicey method of taking cuttings and a fairly high failure rate.
