Computer Desk CFL grow box conversion

Yeah, I'm glad I have got to this point. I had to throw a few plants outside the box, There just wasn't enough room. With recent growth, I removed 3 and have 7 left, but I might have to move another, but hoping not to. I'll post pics soon.

hey grey, plants are looking nice and healthy bro. like the video too! i had a feeling you were gonna run a little tight on space with all those plants, but glad you have the option to put some outside. look forward to seeing the buds fill in!

Everything's looking nice, but that plant in the middle looks like the fan is kicking it's ass. I never thought bud plants were capable of physical comedy.

I'm excited to see the GC fill out, and I'm a big fan of videos. As soon as my grow gets more interesting I'll be sure to post some.

Thanks Homer. My first grow last year was outdoor and it came out terrific, so I'm hoping for the same this year. Box is doing great, and I also cannot wait to see some flower action!

Sweet grow man, starting a similar thing in next couple of weeks, hope it goes as well as this is :)
Good luck. It doesnt take much, just stick to the basics and get the right CFLs, fans and space and you should be fine. For nutrients, I'm using General Hydroponics FloraSeries including the KoolBloom (dry and liquid), Floralicous Bloom. I highly recommend General Hydro. Post here and I'll be sure to follow.

Ha Ha, you had me literally LOL, "physical comedy"! That fan WAS kicking its ass, only because that was my weakest plant, as far as the stalk goes. It needed strengthening and it worked. Doing much better, but that Headband went outside. Weakest links or largest plants had to go outdoor! My Green Cracks are huge and I have 3, but only 1 went out. I have to keep making room for those ones. Got that strain from jhod58vw and his came out great last time, love that strain! More vids to come, keep watching! I hope to see some of your soon.

sorry to be behind a bit just had to ask grey.... you know your plants are going to get confused right? little early for plants at your approximate latitude...

check this out I grow outdoor too from time to time and this application is priceless if you don't invest in a yearly farmers almanac

If you mean confused as in the outdoor plants are not going to flower, I already knew that. Like I said, grew outdoor last year, came out terrific, I have a good understanding of how things should go. They don't begin flower until Summer (May/June) and I harvest between August and September, cured by October/November. I just want to keep some plants in all stages, indoor and outdoor. Not all stages each, I just want some of both going constantly. Cool little widget though, I love anything related to science and technology.

Good technique. The other ones must have been a lot stronger by comparison because they just bounced right back when they got hit.

No I mean the solstice isn't till tomorrow I think but I mean current light cycles will make the plant try to flower then in 3 weeks maybe a month attempt to reveg again. Spring solstice hours are 12 hours of light a day and then it starts going up and the fall solstice is when they go down.

I thought it was the vernal equinox, march 20th, i've never heard of a spring solstice...But I know the vernal and autumnal equinox are around 12/12...Is that what you meant? I could just be retarded, but I didn't think daylight savings(tonight/tomorrow morning @ 2A.M.) had anything to do with actual astronomy...But yeah, after the vernal equinox is roughly when the days get longer than 12/12, and after the autumnal is when they're getting shorter than 12/12. To be more specific, an equinox is when the earths axis is inclined neither away or towards the sun, seeing as the earth's rotation is on a wobble. But inform me about the spring solstice if i'm wrong, just never heard of it.

Solstice = longest day of the season, equinox = almost exactly 12/12 for the day

From the latin, solstice means "sun standing still", equinox meaning "equal night"

it's been a while since I've had to explain so my vocab is off but I am saying at least for the next few weeks can't remember the exact date when the time schedule will be at least 14 hours of light a day but it's not yet so any plants out right now think it's fall when in fact it is early spring so they will try to make buds then in a few weeks reveg is what I am saying. I apologize for the vocabulary confusion.

i think everyone is pretty much on the same page!

i wonder if it would work to use sunlight for about a week or two near the vernal equinox, say from march 11 (11:45 hrs of light) to march 22 (12:13 hrs of light)... that would be within the a small range so it probably wouldn't revert to veg, i'd imagine... good natural light for the prime flower time, couldn't hurt?

Wow, so much conversation. Sorry about the lack of updates, I've had LIFE to deal with the pat couple of weeks, but I have great news and great pics and a video to post, so at least I've kept busy!

Don't know about all the Solstice Equinox talk, it makes sense, just that I'm not too worried about how long the outdoor take to flower, especially if they go back into veg state. Unfortunately, it's been raining so hard and my situation space-wise and money-wise have left me with few options. So, my outdoor plants came back inside, only not in my box. They are temporarily in a cardboard box setup going with the same schedule as my desk grow, 12/12. I have 2 in there, I might have to setup more boxes. They get light and cover, same nutrients schedule and everything. It might be raining for a while, so I am treating them as indoor, just not inside the box. Outside the box if you will. lol.

I began my 12/12 cycle 9 days ago and have finally entered into pre-flower stage and have lots of new growth, so check the pics and video!

Any links on the solstice/equinox cycle in regards to plants, especially cannabis, are appreciated.

Thanks for following!
