try out some roto rooters, there cheap and work for both soil and hydro, i just picked up a tray of 50 for 20 bucks and you do the same method like you been doin before

i would look for different type of soil like soil for seedlings, etc
you need ph to be in 5.6 to 5.8 range and also try not to spray cuttings after you cloned for least 4 days then once a day lightly mist plants if you got CFL'S , T,5s use them 400 is to much it also be nice to have some sort of dome to keep moisture

i had a friend that made a redneck cloner a couple years ago and had great success with it, wish i took pics it wasnt anything special but it worked, he started off with the roto rooter tray and cut 2 holes in the bottom and used a lil aquarium pump to cycle about 2 gallons of water tho it and took ceran wrap around pvc tubing over top it and just used a kitchen florecent light

Keep in mind that clones have no roots to feed or get water from so you have to make sure they have lots of humidity (a dome, plastic bag or plastic wrap will work). A good misting several times a day will help prevent wilting by watering the plants through their leaves. You don't need strong light, but you need some type of warmth to help with keeping the humidity level up. You don't need nutes for the first 1-2 weeks either, when you do start the nutes start lightly. You can mist with a little nute water once they have started to root if you like.

You gotta spray the hell outta clones as much as possible. Since they haven't formed any roots yet, you need to foliar feed multiple times a day. And the humidity must be high.
