LOL minimum wage is what makes you so fucking poor.
No shit.

Minimum wagers who give a shit subsidize their colleagues who don't give a damn about their jobs...

because they, too, are MINIMUM wage.

But they feel ENTITLED to more.

So they put in LESS.

shame.. We defend the very corporations that ship our jobs out of the countrie then we say that because we want a quality of life that we have to give up collective bargaining and accept low wages or else..

Heh.. Why don't we experiment with Imminent domain and kick the multinationals out?
Lets see how that works out..

Are you guys really saying that the problem with low wages is a union?
Or are you guys saying that because of Unions the wages cannot be pushed lower?

I assume none of you are suggesting raising minimum wage to $12 an hour.. Am I right?

The real question you should be asking is:

Exactly WHY do the corporations ships those jobs offshore?

The answer might surprise you if you think globally.

You know: Globally.

The way we have been lectured by Progressives to think for quite some time now.

Those jobs are not 'ours' by the way. They belong to the evil, disgusting, putrid corporations.

Which means they can do anything with them that they want.

And they think globally.

What I am reading around here is that the problem is that there are profits to be made if just you can make people work cheaper.
So the problem is that exploitation is up against an expected quality of life.

So we are saying that low wages work for America if the Government picks up the health care, food stamps and retirement for those low paid workers..
Or maybe you guys are suggesting we just gas the low paid workers when they are no longer worth exploiting?

At least you watched it, or claimed to.

I can't rep you.

What EXACTLY did you find to be opinionated BS? Can you contradict anything specific?

The reason why the bill exempted firefighters and coppers has been covered already.

because they make more money some place else and money is their only concern.
We on the other hand are Citizens of the USA and we live here.

The solution is to not support corporations.

I can only half-agree.

Making the company more valuable for their stockholders should be their ONLY concern.

Making a profit is a big part of that, but not the only part.

What's wrong with making a profit?

Nothing.

Asked and answered.

Do those corporations we should not support include the CORPORATION for Public Broadcasting?

Or the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation? (A Not-For-Profit CORPORATION).

Well you are mad that opportunity for you ( presumably ) is limited because of the situation of the economic realities and blame the unions when the ones with the vacuum cleaner type profit machines are the multinationals.

If I read things right the solution is cheaper labor in the USA so that more profit can be extracted ( presumably ) for you and not those earning wages.

It looks like you are angry because you feel betrayed.

If you are addressing me, and I can only presume you are; you would be incorrect.

It is not me whining about jobs moving overseas. That would be YOU.

I own those corporations. I know because I pay capital gains taxes in spite of my best efforts.

And that is double taxation.

Those evil corporations subsidize my lifestyle.

If any of the politicians cared about America they would stop spending, and raise tariffs to even out the labor costs in the 3rd world. Left and Right. Bunch of douches the whole lot.

If you raise minimum wage to $12 an hour, all you will do is make it so everyone who make 12$ an hour is now poverty. You screw any people who are just starting to approach making enough money to survive every time you raise minimum wage. If the guy serving burgers at mcdonalds gets a pay jump from 7 bucks to 12 bucks that means your burgers will cost more. Which in turn means that same guy who makes 12 bucks now will be paying more for everything he buys. It barely benefits him - however, anyone who made 12 bucks an hour before just loss purchasing power. Minimum wage basically levels out the lower class and keeps them from moving up in the world.
