My seeds are starting to sprout now so i finally get to see what my lights can do, i got them of Richard who custom builds his and sells them on ebay, they were expensive but he did use the very best possible led bulbd including red cree xp-e:)

Lets hope there worth the money.

That's why I don't get the mixing of lens angles in the same panel especially as far apart as 60 and 120. What's the point. They don't compliment each other at all.

Thanks for that. I do not get the math of it, but trust you on it. Glad I have 60 degree lenses on my 1 watt LED's. The often hated HGL penetrator.

Getting 357w out of 180w? Impossible. That's the 2nd company I've seen pushing that crap. Panel may be 357w "full specs", but what are the led's actually set for? Using 100 3w Cree's which max out at 1000mA, but setting at 700mA, doesn't equal a 300w fixture.. more like 200w (or so).

So if you take the 180w it needs to run, and apply the 15% rule, that panel's really somewheres around 150w. 15% is what drivers such as "Mean Well" boast.. 85% efficiency.

150w of LED replacing 1000w of HID?? LOL! Target more for 75 - 90% of what you were using for HID.. otherwise you'll be disappointed.

It's misleading advertising like this that's screwing this technology, making so nobody trusts it.

Yeah that pretty much sums it up.

I ran an actual ammeter on both and the magum ACTUALLY draws 1.43 amps @ 124 volts so pretty much 180 watts and the ISIS 1 draws 1 amp so pretty much 120 watts. I don't have the FX-1 so can't comment on that.

Whoever designed the panels nailed it. I'm happy with what they're doing for me. Whoever is in charge of marketing should be shown the door.

Like I say with any company, don't believe the hype...believe results.

Yeah but their website still has the old advertising up. Spuzzum wasn't making that up. I got an email today from GrowPerfect that they are launching their new website and visa/mc are back up and running so hopefully they post actual ratings and realistic claims but with marketing being what it is I won't hold my breath.

@yesum if you're happy with your HGL that's really all that matters. I'm always being told that my lights were too expensive but now that I'm sitting on almost 3/4 of a pound of killer weed and the next round is on it's way I don't take it too personal :-)
 
Here is a pic of day one in my grow cab, one of the seedlings has really stretched as you can see, i hope its ok, it handt had any light until today so i guess thats why it has stretched.

The light above it is a 140 watt veg light made by richard the custom led guy off ebay. I didt want to put it to close as i know his lights are very powerfull and didint want to cause any damage. Im just hoping the stretched plant will be ok.

Any advice would be welcome if you dont think i have done it right.
 
holy stretch lol get the light closer? and bury that seedling a little deeper so it doesnt get too flimsy and fall over/die

or just pick up a few cfls and and get those real close until the plants get a touch beefier

I now have it 15" from the seedling which is the lowest it will go. Do you think this is to low? The guy suggest 8-10" but he didint say how high above it should be for a seedling.

I have had to remove the really stretched one as it had collapsed already:( Never mind though i have germinated 2 extra seeds so i can cover it.

I have just left the bucket running as i will hopefully have another one to transplant this evening.
