humidity/heat control for my fruiting chamber

My jars are colonized but I am waiting a couple more days then doing the dunk and roll. But I've been trying to get my fruiting chamber to set at like 70 to 85 then I read online that once they start fruiting you want the temp between 80 and 95. I've had it between 70 and 102 which is bad. Also I did the shotgun method with wetted perlite. I have a hydrometer and even with me spraying every so often it hasn't gone above 70% and I read you want max like 90 to 100% is that correct? This is my first shroom grow.

Set up:
Fruiting chamber has a 13" flourescent on a 12/12 timer then a 100wtt bulb that one a timer for every hour and a half. (i started it in increments of every half hour). I have the box raised about a half inch off the ground and I just put a heating pad under it and decided to not use the light. I have about 2 inches of wetted perlite in the bottom, and it is a basic grey rubber maid.

Sorry for the jumbled mess, any advice would be nice.

Its been a long time since I grew shrooms... So I am sure I can figure something out to help you.

Why are you so concerned about humidity right now? Are you recolonize it? If you dunked it and rolled it, then it should be very saturated and have no problems laying out tons of shrooms..
Can you walk me threw what system your using? When I do it I make cakes outta BRF and Verm, in canning jars. Once fully colonized I re-colonize some dung with my cakes, then once the dung is colonized i being to fruit by dropping humidity and dropping sterility.
Sound about the same to you?

I kept mine abouve 80%. I only sprayed when I opened to vent.... Do you have too many vents?


Lets try to eliminate anything that will add to decrease in humidity and add stuff to higher heat.

Whats the ambient room temperature in which your fruiting chambers are located?

Also letting water fall directly on the colony is bad. So try not to get the mycelium wet when spraying. Also take caution when removing the lid as water builds up on it and can fall off in the process of opening the container.

Exactly what I am doing, but I didn't realize the dunked cakes will add/hold moisture. I turned the bulb off and have a heating pad underneath it now and it is staying at about a constant 80 degrees, I feel kind of dumb for posting this now lol. My 13"" fluorescent shouldn't make much more heat anyways.

why so hot, what temps do you get with out the heating pad, no reason to keep temps up that high, 70 degrees is just fine, infact its better.
more importantly is keeping the temps stable.

Darth is correct, temps don't matter if you have patience and don't let the temp get near thermal death temps. They will exude a dangerous golden liquid above around 86 or so. The exudate is dangerous becaus it tends to support contams and it also dries out the mycelium which will cut your yields short. Optimizing temps is a good thing but not necessary for newbies - these things are very forgiving, don't sweat the little stuff. You do, however, want to keep your fruiting humidity as high as you can - otherwise the musrooms might crack or even abort.
