Is day 42 too late to cut off popcorn buds in 77 day strain?

I have a few reasons for asking...

My most important being space... This is my first grow and my ScrOG seems a bit crowded.

I've heard that if I get rid of them the Top colas will swell up more..

And I wouldnt mind sampling my batch early ;)

Its G13/Haze in a Deep Water Culture... And its VERY crowded! Here are some pics... I actually have 2 G13/Hazes and one Vortex in the same bucket... I'm thinking about cutting the Popcorns early on just one of the G13's to see the difference... But id love to know if its a terrible idea too!

Ok so I threw a few shots in that dont help much with the decision... But they look kinda nice! lol

And on second look.. I need to take better pics later...

Should be ok, just remember you are causing them stress which could turn them hermie if it's an unstable strain.

It's not too late but you could pop a hermie ball or two depending on the plant. If you were to carefully remove just the most deprived lower larf I doubt it would hurt anything.

Cool... I took about 5 little popcorn buds that had no light and were far from the next growth... I also took 2 little tiny branches that had decent sized but super fluffy buds that also had no way of getting light.. There were a bunch of nice dense buds that are on the lower end of the bigger colas that now have NO LIGHT. I decided to leave them, but my reasoning was really only so they would be HUGE in the end... But they are also really dense and moist.. My RH usually lowers out at 45% and at night when the doors all shut up it reaches 63%... So far no real issues there, but I'm going to work on my home made exhaust system tomorrow.

Thanks for letting me know its ok in moderation though!! I was afraid to take too much, but we will see if I can tell a diff on the big buds....

I have a grow journal that I'm updating every few days now.. Its mostly pics, but when I get some time I'll fill it in with more details on everything.

To tell the truth I've sampled the plants a couple of times once was the toaster oven on 150 for two ten minute runs.. But then I put them in a small cardboard box inside another cardboard box on top of my 400W MH for about 6 hours they were nice and dry and smoked smooth with a nice high, but it only lasted for about 30 minutes.. I'm hoping a full dry/cure will make them a bit better.. If not, its hash time!

^^ Yep, I usually just leave a little bud on the light until the next day and it's GAME ON!
