theese ladies are just about 4 weeks into flower under a 250 watt led from advanced led lights im useing ffof soil and bat guano for my nutes tell what you guys think this is my very first grow
Are you sure it's a 250 watt and are you sure it's from advanced led? Did you buy it direct from them? That's where I got mine, but I've never heard of them making a 250 watt so I just wanted to double check with you on that

Awsome thanx alot I actually understand the whole angle thing now.
You may want to peek at the conversation a bit back, or google it yourself, but solaroasis has some patents you can follow for a roadmap of either 3 or 5 spectrum with info on proportion, etc. They also used 15 and 30 degree angles, citing better light penetration, unless you plan on short scrog. gl!

So I have picked my led light system brand, I am going with Grow Led Hydro's Spectra, But i have a question (hoping that GLH, will be here listening, because i have emailed them over and over, prlly not their fault considering everyone else emailing them) But i digress.

The new website is under construction. The Spectra LED 300 is now the Spectra LED 500w new for 2011. All specs are the same including the use of 12 true wavelengths and 90 degree lens. The new Spectra LED 500w uses 252 high powered 3w chips and draws 500w of power. Ive upgraded the heat sink and drivers. If you have any further questions please e-mail [email protected] or use the 'contact us' page.

The Spectra-LED 300 (Actual Power Draw is 360 Watts) Light System with a 4.5' x 4.5' coverage area and 3' x 2.5' core saturation. Further, it's 80% more energy-efficient than Metal Halide or HPS lamps. This system, with its unique 12+ wavelength lighting, 3 watt/3 chip LED's at 90 degree viewing angle, they emit precise illumination that your plants are readily able to absorb. Eliminated stretching and tight inter-node spacing represent just a couple of the benefits of this system.

Do note that the benefits do not stop here! The Spectra-LED 300w Light System will positively excel in any indoor growing method including, hydroponics, aeroponics, and soil. The system comes complete with built-in cooling fans, rendering additional cooling equipment unnecessary. The Spectra-LED 300w Light System is safe to operate as it features no exploding bulbs and will, therefore, not burn your precious plants. Because there aren't any bulbs to replace, there are virtually no maintenance expenses. Further, the Spectra-LED 300w Light System comes with a 3-year warranty to guarantee your satisfaction.

Having no thermal footprint and putting out 300w at a minuscule 2.4 amps on 110 volts, this system weighs a mere 19 lbs and measures a manageable area of 19" x 13" x 3". Further, it requires no ballast, is environmentally safe, contains no hazardous material, and is CE and ROHS compliant.

The new website is under construction. The Spectra LED 180 is now the Spectra LED 290w new for 2011. All specs are the same including the use of 12 true wavelengths and 90 degree lens. The new Spectra LED 290w uses 160 high powered 3w chips and draws 290w of power. Ive upgraded the heat sink and drivers. If you have any further questions please e-mail [email protected] or use the 'contact us' page.

The Spectra-LED 180 (Actual Power Draw is 240 Watts) Light System emits an unmatched 12+ wavelength illumination, uses 3 watt/3 chip LED's at a 90 degree viewing angle unlike any other system on the market today. This powerful system excels in any indoor growing method including, hydroponics, aeroponics, or soil.

At 12 pounds and measuring 19" x 13" x 2.5", this 110 volt dynamo draws a mere 0.65 to 1.25 amps yet delivers 180 watts of light and works in an operating temperature range of -4F +104F -20C~+40C.

The Spectra-LED 180w Light System produces much better results through every stage of plant growth, from vegetative to flowering to harvest. It features an 4' x 4' coverage area, 2.8' x 2.5' core saturation, and delivers over 95% of absorbable light to the plant.

The Spectra-LED Light System has no thermal footprint and, considering 95% of the light emitted from an HID lamp is wasted in the form of non-absorbable light waves and heat energy, is 80% more efficient than Metal Halide or HPS lamps.

Efficiency does not stop here, though. You benefit even further with having no bulbs to replace and no maintenance over its 50,000 hour life cycle. No additional cooling equipment is required as the Spectra-LED Light System boasts built-in cooling fans. With no bulbs to potentially explode or burn plants, this system is safe to operate. Further, it's environmentally safe, containing no hazardous materials, and is CE and ROHS compliant.

So my questions are how is it that they update their site, but go on to tell you that: The Spectra-LED 180w Light System produces much better results through every stage of plant growth? when they say its actual power draw is 240? And they call it the 290? I mean if your going to update your site wouldnt you just scrap calling it the 180 period? Unless this is a marketing gimmick to trick you. (this is supposed to be the honest company)?

The same goes for the 500 which is the spectra 300 with a 260watt power draw. I mean they update the page for the 500 but give us the specs for the old model. Do they not want to tell us up front what the 500 actualy pulls?

Im very curious on the light output it says for the 500 that it covers a 4.5x4.5 but has a core saturation of 3' x 2.5' and the 290 is a 4x4 with a 2.8' x 2.5' core saturation.

Now im curious, does this mean that anything within the core saturation is going to grow better than outside of it, and if thats the case then how does telling us a 4x4 is the optimal growing foot print or 4.5x4.5.

I also dont understand their parallel board technology for if 1 diode goes out they all go out? Interesting enough they only marketed that tech towards the 500, but i just checked and apparently they scraped that?? Basically all of this nonclemature has me confused, i was going to purchase from them because of the diodes going out and not having the whole board go out... but now there site makes no mention of this. it only now states that it is updated heat sink and drivers. Am i losing it, someone tell me they read that too.

and if nothing has changed with the lights why are the 2011 lights soo much more expensive this year.

Im not bashing these guys, i actually really want to buy from them, im just really confused. Eh.

I noticed the same thing with old/wrong specs on their website. I've seen journals using the spectras and they seem like good lights that do they job, but things like sloppy websites that have incorrect info and virtually zero customer service, lead me to believe they are not as serious about their company image and reputation as they should be. The company I purchased mine from, you can call them anytime and speak to the same rep each time, and they respond to emails same day. Customer service and company pride are important to myself as a consumer.

The website isn't up to date yet, the only thing that was really updated was the pricing and wattage and name ratings. The specs under the pricing and wattage info are mostly correct but haven't been updated for the 2011 models (which are mostly the same as the units the spec info was put up for, but are a bit differen't). GLH must be swamped because they have never taken more than 2-3 days to reply to me (and I was sending emails every few days from Sept to Feb before I bought mine)

Things got really confusing because GLH would give the unit the name the same way most companies did, but then would also tell you the true wattage. And these infos changed with each generation and this got really confusing because while some people would refer to their unit by the true wattage, others would go by the name. On top of this some generations kept the name but changed their true wattage... It got really confusing so now they said they will only names units by their true wattage.

PS: Also the pics on the site are quite out of date, the new units look more technologically advanced like mine: S7301832.jpg2011_Spectra_380w.jpgS7301834.jpg These are of the first generation from the 2011 line and is the 395w unit

but why did they take the information about the parallel circuit off their site? Does that mean that the new models for 2011 can have a diode go out and disrupt all of the lights? because a couple of weeks ago they were touting that the 500 had some spec that would keep all the lights from going out if 1 diode went out too. Im just curious as i read this before but now its not there, and thats the reason i was going with there company. now i cant find it anywhere on there site, so if they are out of date on there info, why would they update the info and then take it off? i was under the impression that this was the reason behind it the price increase.

Probably just a mistake because they definitely still feature this tech, in fact I am pretty sure this is new for the 2011 line, I don't believe any units from GLH before the 2011 models had that feature. You would think it wouldn't take long to fix the site, but who knows. It sounds like GLH is still waiting on the lab results from the lights it sent to some Light Lab before they really update the site.
