Inline fan question.

Suncourt Inductor In Line Duct Fan - 4 in.: Allergy Relief Superstore

i'm looking at a fan like this or similar. they are obviously cheaper and flow less air than the centrifugal? type fans- but i have seen people get moderate success using them on this forum.

my question is this- can i feasibly vent a medium sized closet using this fan THROUGH a diy carbon filter and a 400 hps sealed light reflector to my attic?

or would i need something with more cfm to push all that?

thanks guys.

I use 4 of those, 2 in and 2 out. I pull air from my home air ducting and exhaust through an active charcoal filter. I have a 250w MH and it keeps my cab at about 80 degrees.

that's cool. i'm not really looking to invest in 2 or 4 if i dont have to.
so you dont think 1 of those would cut it for a closet grow? because if i have to drop the cash for 2 of those i might as well just buy one 4" centrifugial inline fan from the hydro store for the same price (used).

no it will not push enough air to cool the light sufficiently i am afraid.

have a 400w coolshade so speak from experience.

you need a 4'' in line fan that shifts 180m3/h at least, preferably a 5'' one if you can that shifts about 225m3/h.

also with coolshade it is best to blow the air through the light to cool it, instead of trying to "suck" it through.

the fan you highlighted would, however, be suitable for pushing fresh air into the grow room at the room's base.

a 100mm low powered ruck fan is good for 230/m3 a hour,,,,as a intake fan you may be able to get away with the intake fan your talking about, but bear in mind a carbon scrubber will reduce suction,so you should get a more powerful one really,,,you will need a fan like i suggested for a extractor fan imo.

Active air inline fans are very reasonably priced for 4,6 or 8 inch, move between 260 to 720 cfm. why do all the collecting?
