Plasma and 1000w grow

It's not dimmable (at least not my model). I think it may have to do with the fact I'm using a camera on the auto setting so it adjusts itself for some reason. I have noticed that it is much more noticeable when I stand between it and the HPS. I think the HPS's yellow/orangeish glow kind of overpowers the cooler light of the plasma (to the human eye at least). Especially considering that I'm running the lumatek on the super lumens setting.

The data sheet says that it's pulling 279 watts. So, if the light continues to work out I may have my friend order another and run two of them next to the 1k to get a more fair comparison.

Here's the link that most closely matches what I have. My friend ordered and paid for it so it says on the bill of lading that it's a custom build so it may differ slightly from any pictures. The 02 bulb significantly cuts down on the life but the 01 bulb doesn't have enough red spectrum in it to use for flowering. The 02 is the updated bulb that has enhanced red spectrum. From all the charts I've looked at, the 02 bulb matches an HPS pretty well.

the rumor with these sulfur plasmas it cuts your veg time down to 5 days but i don't know how legit it is I have seen pictures of cuttings but no pictures of the final product

I don't know about 5 days. All depends on the size you want the final product to be. IMO (since this is my first time with them) there is definitely less stretching. The nodes are pretty close compared to the HPS. I will say that the plants under the plasma do seem to not have the need for as big of fan leaves. Again, I wouldn't put much weight in these comparisons and observations at the moment because the clones that came in under the plasma were the runts and late rooters. The HPS plants have any where from 7-12 days more veg time than those under the plasma.

Once I get a couple run throughs then I'll make bolder proclamations.

You have a find a contract fencing supplier. Vynal fencing is big these days so every town has them. You have to ask for black 5x5 abs. pvc stretches when black is added.
Hey mine might look fancy but with this drain problem I havnet fixed, at least your growing stuff out of yours. The black tubes also have a hexagon shape on the inside that perfectly fits 1/4 poly tubing so you dont have to install the tube clips which I found to be a pain in the ass.

I have enough fencing and pumps for 4 60 sites,
I like yours though.

My dream is to get all 4 60 sites running under 4, 400w parabolic reflectors. Making a small footprint on 240 plants with 2-3 oz per plant. thats 45 pounds on a good grow with only 600 bucks of energy usage.

WRT your grommet issue, I would just go at the grommets with an exacto knife until they fit. As long as the water isn't gushing out of the drain, it should just run right down the tube. I know this is kind of a ghetto fab solution but sometimes you gotta trim parts to make them go together.

It's funny you didn't do the tube clips either. I just drilled holes and ran zip ties through them and ran the tube as I drilled the holes.

Also, the holes that the tubes come in are pretty sloppy. I didn't have the proper vices to hold the caps so it's a close enough type of effort.

That's what I'm trying to figure out with this run. So far it looks like it will be at least 3'x3'. The ones on the edge are really picking up. It looks like light penetration of the canopy may be an issue because the plants that are on the edge and get shadows are definitely slower growing. Again that may be due to the difference in veg versus no veg for some of them. Next run everything should be uniform so I'll find out the edges better.

Also, I can pop the glass off of it and the reflector is just folded aluminum or someother flimsy metal that I should be able to bend to fit it to what I want. There's a gap between the reflector and the edges of the lamp.

Edit: Also, the camera doesn't do the light distribution justice. It is fairly even. There's obviously a hot spot right underneath but it spreads remarkably well.

Day 40 of flowering. New pics.

The girls are looking good. I'm starting to have some heat issues (running about 88 f when ambient outdoor temps are higher than 85 f). That was to be expected since I'm running a shed in a southwestern state but I think I will be switching to 2 magnum led's (instead of the 1k) after this harvest is done so I can keep going through the summer.

the skinny solo plant is the lsd that's about 14 days behind the others. The plasma looks good but I think the range is going to be 3'x3'. I think it's going to work well. I can't wait to start with non-runts and late rooting clones.

Thanks and yea, it is. And my area's climate isn't really compatible with MJ from May to September. The girls don't seem to mind when it gets up to 88 but they drink a fuck ton of water when it's that high so I want to get it down. I don't like crazy PPM spikes.

Yea, the pics are kind of mixed between the two lights but you can tell the ones that are under the plasma by the bluish hue and that they're smaller but yea, I think that plasma would be perfect for a closet set up.

Bunch of pics this time. They'll probably be coming down at the end of the month. I'm at day 46 of flowering and they're swelling up now. I'm fucking stoked because this is my best crop ever so far. Also, threw in a couple pics of the LSD girl that went straight from cloner to flower. The plasma has her and the other LSD sisters looking good. These all had roots and were healthy when they went in. Some of the bigger ones under the plasma weren't fully rooted but I had to move them at the time so considering that they look fantastic too.

hehe, guess I just got lucky because I didn't pheno hunt either. I just sprouted 3 feminized seeds and those became my moms. I'm pretty vigilant about killing off weak plants though so if any of them would have looked like shit they would have gotten the boot.
