Some people need a lesson in Botany. marijuana DOES NOT give off a "heat signature"....People that use 1000 watt HPS and/or 1000 Watt MH are the ones that can get caught. Hell yeah the cops have equipment that can detect if you are running such crazy ass bulbs in your home, but to say that marijuana can be found from a "heat signature" outside is just plain ignorant.

1. Dont plant in highly traveled areas
2. Dont use the same path time and time again
3. Dont Leave your trash behind
4. Dont cut down trees, find a spot that is already suitable
5. Dont plant in rows or any kind of pattern

the pilot flew pretty low and we were able to open the side door on the huey and as far as spotting a pot plant it would stand out like a sore thumb. I think the main thing is blending in, do not plant out in the open, pine trees stay green all year long , you may have to deal with the acid soil, but I have found they are some good cover.

cops find plants because people find plants. you want to plant your marijuana plant in a location that only you would go to. also you may have not noticed but marijuana smells... a lot. come september your plants gonna be ripe with nugs and its gonna smell 'loud'. ive got a pretty good nose for marijuana... then again so does anyone whos ever smelled it, so its not unrealistic to be able to smell larger flowering plants from 2-300 yards away.
So now you have a spot thats kinda remote you wanna make sure u dont do anything to draw attention to your garden. This means things like not leaving a trail in the woods... dont snap a bunch of bushes or walk thru grasses... stay on the dirt / rocks. Also if you find a spot with a clearing, dont plant in the middle of the clearing plant on the tree line so the plant has some cover and something to blend in with. just having pot plants growing around other small trees and shrubs goes MILES towards keeping it concealed. Also if your bringing your indoor plants outside to flower you might wanna dig a hole a foot or so deeper than the container to keep the overall height of the plant down. theres a lot i didnt mention but i think i got the basics. fell free to ask away if u have any more questions.

A couple things to keep in mind is WHO NEEDS TO KNOW do not discuss your business with no one, actually no one needs to know but you, I was talking with a veteran grower the other day this was a topic, you tell one person they tell another, and another, before you know it you're getting busted.......
Never take anyone on a sight tour {believe me} I know you want to show a couple close buddies or girl friend your beautiful girls, but when you return to harvest and all you have is stalks sticking out of ground, you start pointing fingers at someone that didnt have anything to do with it.{been there}

Im not sure if this might help, but every time i've seen choppers was in the morning to early afternoon hours. pretty sure they try to do it when the suns at its high point so theres little shadow cover. So even though morning sun is ideal, i thought about putting plants in an area mostly shaded in those early hrs, because you can't make out that green unless the suns lighting it up , so i feel like while the choppers are doing most of their searching, my plants will be under shadow cover and very hard to see.

This is a great idea! You could also do the opposite and have them shaded in the afternoon during the hottest hours of the day, this would also help with water issues. I have also heard that the morning sunlight is especially good for some plants.
