SUN vs. HPS

Sunlight, in the broad sense, is the total frequency spectrum of electromagnetic radiation given off by the Sun. On Earth, sunlight is filtered through the Earth's atmosphere, and solar radiation is obvious as daylight when the Sun is above the horizon.
When the direct solar radiation is not blocked by clouds, it is experienced as sunshine, a combination of bright light and radiant heat. When it is blocked by the clouds or reflects off of other objects, it is experienced as diffused light.
The World Meteorological Organization uses the term "sunshine duration" to mean the cumulative time during which an area receives direct irradiance from the Sun of at least 120 watts per square meter.[1]
Sunlight may be recorded using a sunshine recorder, pyranometer or pyrheliometer. Sunlight takes about 8.3 minutes to reach the Earth.
Direct sunlight has a luminous efficacy of about 93 lumens per watt of radiant flux, which includes infrared, visible, and ultraviolet light. Bright sunlight provides illuminance of approximately 100,000 lux or lumens per square meter at the Earth's surface.
Sunlight is a key factor in photosynthesis, a process vital for life on Earth.

so there you go if you got a 1000 watt producing 110,000 lumens per Sq meter your giving same as sunlight :)) as per lumens
Dude, the SUN shines on HALF of the PLANET! A BULB cannot do the same as the SUN. You don't have to adjust for the sun...You can't escape sunlight even when in "shade". The SUN is free! Outside...WIND/AIR is FREE! FFS, give it a break.

No,. . . he means it would get too hot and you would have to vent it wasting the Co2 because it would be vented out immediately. Not that you don't have ventilation so it would be a waste, . . . *shakes head* some people. Although this is all pointless because you want heat 85-95% when your are running Co2.
wtf? and why in the hell dont you think i can cool the small plexie glass room? and properly vent it? some of you make growing hard, lol when you know what your doing yull be fine.

The Sun Light is enriched with Vitamins & such, like Vitamin D, etc. I don't have my notes, but I ask the Local Weatherman how many Lumens the full Texas Sun puts out. It took a couple days... I believe He said 72,000. I keep my Babies/Ladies in the Sun as much as possible. A Boss ask me one time why I was late for work. I told Him "You try hauling 20 four ft. tall Pot plants outdoors every Morning in the dark, and see how late You are." He was cool.
For cooler outdoor weather, rake away any mulch you have during the day to help warm the soil, then rake it back in the evening, to retain the heat. After the soil finally warms up, ALWAYS have a good layer of mulch around your Babies. This drastically helps the soil from fluxuating from hot to cool, from too wet to too dry. These little things can deter stress that slows the growing process down.

the sun clearly puts out infinitely more light with the correct spectrums required to produce flowers to their prime. if i lived in hawaii i would be growing some true equatorial sativas. They veg and bud naturally with your light schedule. though they are hard to find. I am pissed that i am limited to indicas.

Why is HPS even an issue in the OUTDOOR section? They are OK for starting inside if that's your thing, but it can't beat the sun. It's like the indoor growers want to stick their chest out for nothing. LOL. The sun has been taking care of this planet for billions of years and people actually think a man made creation can do better. Wow!

Braaaah hawaiian sun is the best light that has ever been made. remember they made lights to try and copy the sun :p why would you pay to use the sythetic copy if you have the natural original free of charge. the way your doing it is the best way in hawaii. i use fluro tubes and cfls for side lighting.
