Ha, yea I was thinking that ppm was really high. I think it has been goin up overnight, not sure though I'd have to ask my husband. You think that 600 is too close? I keep wanting to raise it. But he seems to think that plants can't get to much light, I've read otherwise.

As for the ebb and flow...damn. Lol he had all the empty pots full of hydroton when the bs was in there and I told him to take em out! Which I should of known better, I think I've read that before.

Yes it's our first grow in DWC buckets, hell it's our first grow in any buckets lol. Last grow was outdoors and that was 10 yrs ago. No idea abt the temps in reservoirs. I've been meaning to get to the pet store for some floating thermometers. I also need some of those little hygrometers, but I guess I've got plenty of time to get those. Don't you have those? eBay right?

The bs was mainly for trial and error I guess, I just don't want to make the same mistakes with the widow. Anyways, thank you so much for all of your valuable advise Serapis

In pic 7, I think I see a possible Calcium shortage. I think 900 may be too high as well. Does the reservoir maintain that ppm overnight or does it go up or down? A plant that size I would have at or around 400 ppm. I would also be very careful with some of those products you listed. I'm not at all familiar with them. I'm familiar with the Flora Nova series and the Cal-Mag. I'm beginning to lean towards only using SuperThrive during propagation or transplants, as recent studies I've read show great results for those events, but that's about it.

On the Ebb and flow or flood table, I'd use empty pots with hydro to cover the water and the bottom of the tray, or you'll end up with algae. Hydro in those pots should be above the water line to prevent algae. Is this your first grow in the DWC buckets? What kind of temps do you have in the reservoirs?

You have a nice set up and you'll grow some nice buds.

Woke up and couldn't sleep.... I'll be smoking some hash after I post this and trying to sleep again. I just checked the chlorine level in the EZC and as expected, it had all dissipated. Counting out 36 drops of bleach for the first time to add to the EZC, I unloaded the dropper over a 1/4 tsp measuring spoon, counting to 36, 6 drops per gallon. The PH had risen to 6.3, which is on the high end of OK, so I added some GH PH Down as well. I turned on the pump and let the system run for 5 minutes. The PH is down to 6.0 and the chlorine level is around 1ppm. The rooting powder looks like it is finely distributed on the bottom of the reservoir.... makes sense I guess, it not being as water soluble as I'd like. I may attempt to add a tsp to some warm water and shake vigorously to see if I can get it to mix and then add that to the res.

Your husband is right, you want that 600 about 12-16" from the plants if that duct is active and moving air. The seedlings you leave the HID light high. The ppms are going up overnight because 900 is too high for that early. Start bumping it down by 200 ppm per night until the ppm stabilize overnight. I check my ppms once per 24 hours. If the ppms keep going up, my nute level is too high. If the ppms keep going down, I should bump up the nutrients. Too much nutrients will also cause your PH to get too low, cheating the plant out of P & Mg, which in turn will cause Ca to get locked out and your leaves begin developing rust spots, like i saw in pic #7.

I'd get the ppms down to 400 pronto, in fact, flush reservoir and fill with fresh water and nutrients so you know the plant has what it needs... If you just water down current reservoir, it may be short of a particular element.

The hygrometers I have are from eBay.

Having only one successful clone under my belt, I'm not sure what to look for, but I believe what I'm seeing is good.... instead of the cut stem ends being hollow, they are filling or have filled in with a white looking substance. I have to wonder if that is how the tap root starts on cuttings. It would seem likely. LOL, I just realized it hasn't even been 24 hours yet and I'm already looking at the stems....

sounds right that white material is where the roots grow out of. you should notice the white material growing in the parts where you made cuts. it is a good way to see the impacts of where you cut and how it affected the plant.

After almost 24 hours, the clones are looking healthy and I think I'm seeing signs of possible activity. The hollow stem ends have filled in with a white substance, and small bumps are forming up the stems. I've got my fingers crossed.

Well as much as I hate hearing those words "your husband is right" I'm glad the lights ok where it is lol. Tonight the ppms will be lowered to around 400 and I bet by the end of the wknd we'll see significant changes. Its not that I doubt my husbands intelligence by any means, but sometimes i think he goes a little overboard on the nutes, or overthinks things sometimes. Like if one drop is good 2 is better so to speak. And I have a tendency to worry about every little thing, even stuff we havent encountered yet. Idk abt you but I'm dreading the heat this summer and possibly fighting temps. But the setup is very well ventilated so I guess only time will tell. What will suck is when the light are on at night, I already know Im going to be wanting to peak in that tent all day once we have something flowering lmao. Sorry for the ramble and thank you again for the advice.

In my research, I stumbled upon recipes for herbal tinctures to be used in e-cigarettes... imagine my surprise! I'm going to be doing a slow, low heat extraction soon for the purpose of making some liquid weed juice to use in my cartridges. Imagine smoking THC in public and no one but you knowing it! I'm looking forward to this and will of course take pictures and share the steps and the results.

My e-liquids came in today and I refilled 4 spent cartridges with a coffee flavored liquid tobacco.... I got the 18mg nicotine and I think it is too much, lol... it has me jittery, like a full flavored Marlboro would. The coffee taste is the EXACT same as the cartridges I was paying $10 a 5 pack for. Still not bad, only $2 a pack worth of nic, but a 30 ml bottle of e-juice is cheaper and it can fill a lot of carts. I was going to use Musk Melon flavor with my extract for weed, but they sent me Musk Melon tobacco juice. t6hey did send mandarin orange flavor, so weed and oranges it is. It'll be several weeks before I can do this, as I have no leaf trimmings on hand.

ah, i have some trimming as i just harvested my first 2 plants on monday!! im so happy, and high lol. its dry and ive snuck a lil bit to test it out lol. its all goin in the jars today but for serious i await anything you have to offer on ecig thc liquid!! should i just stay tuned here?

those small bumps are the roots. when i see these i dont take the cutting out of the rockwool again. i wait to see roots poking out the bottom and sides of the rockwool and then transplant and thats that. sometimes i might add a tiny bit of veg nutes to the clones. this i find reduces leaf yellowing when the plant reallocates materials to grow roots.

Thanks. I'm not in rockwool. I'm using an EZ Clone(EZC) and the stem and soon to be roots are exposed. I'm hoping to avoid any nutrients until roots are showing. Nutrients invite bacteria.
