Hi Serapis! Don't believe we have conversed before. I left a message on your journal on 4/1 re: cold extraction. Anyway, just wanted to say hello. I use all sorts of tinctures in my ecig. I can vouch for the lack of odor. I have walked around public many times with my mj tincture in place. It is so funny when people want to admire it. People have actually asked to puff on it. Yeah, right! Sorry... I have a cold.
Anyway, is there a way to extract directly into the glycerin? I have been evaporating the grain alcohol with a double boiler and incorporating the glycerin that way. Please let me know if there is an easier way to do it. I have tried soaking directly into the glycerin (with less expensive herbs), but that didn't turn out so well for me.
I used my ecig religiously for a year. Then I spent last summer in Europe. With everyone smoking, I lost my discipline, and would allow myself a fag here or there. Before I knew it, they snuck their way back into my routine. I still have all the stuff... a lot of it. I almost always made my own eliquid. Whether it was an herbal tincture, or just flavored. I made some real tobacco tinctures that people on the ecig forum would pay for! It was my favorite. However, I was still concerned about the levels of nitrosamines in the mix. Ha! And here I am puffing again. Couldn't have been worse than this.
Perfumer's Apprentice is a great source for excellent flavors quite inexpensively. Typically I worked with 100mg nicotine (cutting it to about 15mg). Reading this stuff makes me want to pick it back up. I have learned a lot from your many posts.
