I dont trust change due to all the shit money goes. But if your weighing weed you'll be fine with the change,if its any powders going on that scale I'd get the weight.

I have an AWS AWM-600 I got from amazon.com and I'm very satisfied with it. Despite being made in China it does not appear to be Chinese quality. It weighs from 0.1 to 600g with a back lit screen. It's thin and has a closing lid, perfect for pockets. There's also an extra batter compartment for backups. It did not come with a calibration weight but I have a 10g weight from my other more accurate bullet/jewel scale and it was dead on.

The best digital pocket scales I have ever used are Tanita. My one set finally died after over a decade. I rarely had to change the batteries, they were consistently accurate, and extremely durable. I sat on them MANY times, couple times with them standing vertical in my back jean pocket, and nearly bent them. Dropped them numerous times over the years.
They can take a shit kicking and still work good , and my set weighed shit from the top of Whistler Mountain in BC, to Eastern Alberta. If you baby them, they will last you for life.

Tanita Pockets

I used the 1479V version, but there is a new version called the 1479Z that is lighter weight and can handle more modes than the V version.

A little more expensive than other brands, but well worth it.

PS- order them online. Head shops are brutal for mark up.......like twice the price as online and buy a calibrating weight.

Go to your local US Post Office they have hanging scales with little clips to weigh your mail for the right postage. You just put stuff in a baggie, clip it, hold up the scale and read the where the pointer is, very old technology but works like a dream and fits in your pocket. Just a couple of bucks.

Had mine for a decade, never breaks, no batteries and no calibration required.

Edit- I should add that I wouldn't use it for a lot of weighing.

FASTWEIGH on amazon, got myself a 400g scale a couple years ago for 6$, i paid 7 for overnight shipping. and its never failed me. one tip is get one that run off standard batteries ie.. AA AAA. the watch batteries are a pain in the ass to find sometimes.

I ordered one yesterday off http://www.dealextreme.com

Its 7$, and has 100g - 0.01g accuracy. So it can weigh 10mg`s hopefully, it hasn`t arrived yet.

My one is: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/portable-pocket-digital-scale-100g-0-01g-2-aaa-52541 for $6.90 and works with 2AAA batteries. It also AUTOCALIBRATES! :)

This one is damn good too:

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ultra-mini-pocket-digital-scale-200g-0-01g-1-cr2032-52512

Don`t bother paying for brands, its not worth it. They have this one which is the size and looks exactly like a zippo lighter, weighs 200g-0.01g but works on an CR42 battery. However, its only 10.80 and looks pretty good!

A user rated it 5 stars for everything and 3 stars for price. He said the battery doesn`t last too long but the one I bought works on AAA`s.

I also bought: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/45x-microscope-endoscope-with-2-led-illumination-3-lr927-22831 Pretty good 45x pocket microscope for 3.50$ (for mushroom sporeprints and various hobbies)

My advice is don`t buy anything before visiting dealextreme!

Thought I'd show you what a mechanical postal scale looks like. They are accurate enough for me, my friends are amazed at how accurate it is. Cost about $6

What I liked is you can just throw it in the glove box with a few envelopes and a couple of stamps and you're covered. Especially, if you have the receipt from the USPS.

But, if you need to be very careful then you do need throw aways.
