Today I was movin aroun my pots n a branch accidently got snagged n broke at main stem....my plants r jus startin their 3rd week flowering n i'm wondering if that branch is screwed .... The branch didn't completely rip off but damn near i currently have it tied up with ductape at the joint so it can hopefully repair but the buds comin off that branch r kinda droopy n limp ...my real question is do u think it will repair even after the buds being limp n droopy on the branch r is it jus screwed up....this is stressin me somebody who has ran into a similar prob please help a fellow medical patient...thx

You did the right thing. Time will only tell now if the plant will recover. I've used black electrical tape before and had a plant recover very nicely so just keep your finger crossed and good luck.

Just make sure it has a tight connection at the break and cross your fingers. I bet it will be fine. Hopefully nothing starts to rot. Counterintuitively, I would spray the bud a couple times a day so it doesn't die of thirst. This may assist rot but if it's limp, it's thirsty. Death by thirst is a lot faster than death by rot. Give it two or three days to look better.

my plant did the same thing last year ,

i topped it , and after a few weeks i was lst`n ,

well i accidentally pulled to hard and split the main stalk right down the center

i wrapped electrical tape tight around it

and it made a complete recovery

your plant is just in a little shock right now , it will recover

just have it nice and tight where you taped it back up

this is the plant i split in 2 , and it fully recovered

this pic was taken 1 week after the stem split , and its nice and healthy

its just to bad that it was a male , lol

I think your be ok if its not ripped off. I bust up my plants on purpose all the time like this i bend stalks so they drip liquid and leave them i find the crotch of other plants and cut right down the middle and then fix it. I have found the best tape is from dollar store same white tape that have in first aid kits cause its real flexible and withstands moisture..Now dont go reading this thinking im dumb for mutilating my plants lmao im into the grafting thing and that is a bitch to do so u gotta do test on ways to get your stems back together to live. What u did is correct IMO and as long as its tight (the tape) u should be good. Also when i do these fixings on my plant i add a rooting compound not sure if it does anything but so far its not hurting them ...IMO i would not spray the bud i wont chance mold or my crop for one bud id leave it be and if it dont get better in say 1-2 weeks cut it GOOD LUCK!!!

Thx fo the advice guys I made sure it's tightly joined but I'm sure it's shocked at the moment I'm going to jus let it do it's thang n hopefully the buds prop bacc up towards light.... It's weird cus the stem isn't limp until u get to the tip top where buds are ...the rest of the plant is still lookin healthy n all jus a few buds dwn the branch r kinda slumped out I jus hope it dosent start wilting on that branch befo it can heal

Just wrote a whole paragraph and it didnt take for some reason. Tape is ok but twist ties are easier to work with. Where it broke it will "knot" up or lump when heeled this is normal. Dont leave your splents on to long. the plant itself will grow around it and could potentially strangle it. had it happen on a plant I completely spaced splinting. she died did an inspection and the only thing I could come up with was when I dissected her i realized she consumed the tape I used. Just know if its a healthy plant with a sturdy splint shouldnt take more than 2 weeks to fully heel.

if it makes you feel better man. I had a plant that I had trained to fork at the top and spread out the branches quite a bit. My twisty ties had started to dig into the bark of my plant and I was trying to remove it, and I split the fork right down the middle, about an inch down into the main stem of the plant. I did some really snug figure 8's with my twisty tie and held it in place. About a week later I took off the figure 8's and the plant had sealed itself shut. It had no loss of growth or vigor. It actually has longer colas than the other plant that was unhurt, though I can not scientifically claim that the split helped.

I've done it too main thing i worry about when that happens during flower is the stress could make it herm and pollinate the restof your plants so if you see nanners get it out quick! ! I just did it to one today too. It Def ain't hard. Lol

Ive had the same thing with my 2 colas snapping at the bottom. Tape that shit up and let them heal for 2 weeks, when the tape removed it was healed, but then a strong wind sanpped it again so i did the same process all over again. Mine def will slow the flowering process. I dont know how much damage u gkt wd ur plants, mine was a major one. Also got some super thrive of the net and foliar feed it. Thank God its still alive and lukin healthy

I was reading this thread just for aome new knowledge, ive had many branches snap, as long as you set the right brace it will repair...similiar to a broken leg on a human. This time I followed the advice of @bulla I have used some first aid tape on a recent snap (3/4) of large veg branch broke while moving the plant. Twist ties jave worked, toothpicks and scotch tape have worked... this time im using first AID Tape and @bulla seems to be spot on. The tape is flexible, breThes and it sturdy. I just finished taping her and im certain she will regenerate! Happy growing. Hit me up family IG @newjerseymarijuana1498131358776203618584.jpg

First grow, first top, and this forum makes me feel so much better. Broke a branch almost clean trying to tie it down. Little medical tape and I'm hopeful for repair.IMG_20200315_202118.jpgIMG_20200315_210022.jpgIMG_20200315_212321.jpg
Broke it thinking they could be more of an X pattern instead of 2vs. Clear medical tape with holes and took all the tension off of that branch and used the wire to make sure it's supported to hopefully keep it all flush together. Time will tell if it's adequate to save it.

It fell out of the tape during lights out. Glad I did not remove those fan leaves now. Taped it to the fan leaf and hoping for a miracle. Had I realized those fan leaves were not part of my new lines I wouldn't have messed with it the way I did. Live and learn... still hoping for a miracle.IMG_20200316_030607.jpg

Edit:My ladies are not autos... Apologies if it's a flowering issue.

I would keep going, these girls are tough. It will take her about 3 days to jump back if you taped her up quick/within a few hours. Broke a few now and they seem to all kick back.
The plant up above from my last post... compared to now, Here she is 3 weeks into flower.
