I was thinking about getting a ssv. It's worth the money? I'm still not sure if a bag-type vapo would be right for me (I'm usually the only one toking most days)...and the volcano is double the price of a ssv. I haven't really read a bad word about the ssv (unlike some others that I've read about)...although I've heard mention that the vapor that comes out of it might be a bit hot (i.e., harsh on the throat)...has that been your experience, or no?

I really wanna switch from smoking to vaporizing at home...just trying to get as much feedback as I can about the different models available. Really, though, the MFLB a great portable vapo.
I started out on the cheapo china ebay Whip style vape..... I did a youtube review of it,... It's a great starter model to see if you like it ....but with no warranty If you Kick it's glass heating Rod like I did you can't just send it in for a new one(A Huge Bonus and worth a bit more money IMO To get a warranty)
After I trick out My Weedstar Double Bubble With A Oil Rig And An Ash Catcher Imma save up for a desktop vape..... i've been looking at them for about a year now And it's really a 50//50 split between the Extreme -Q And The SSV..... Both From what I gather, are very solid investments I like the personalization aspect of the SSV And the Shear Number Of features on the Q :)

Well in all honesty a) when pulling on a SSV I rarely notice the back of throat or harsh, its pure flavor, and those first free draws are epic! B)If it is to hot, nothing is better then a bong/ice chamber rip.....I feel that the SSV is well the best whip style vaporizer you can get imo and yes go get it, you will be very happy!

If your going to vaporize with bongs the ssv is a no brainer. Personally I find with the extreme is that you really have to inhale hard to get good vapor-flow where as my vaporbrothers box vape you only need to inhale a small amount to generate nice vapor-flow. The extreme's whip experience is pretty average. I've never personally tried any other bag vape but from what I can tell it does bags pretty average too.

Imo the ssv all the way for bong/whips. The extreme q does everything bags/whip but its pretty middle of the road. Prob better to have both.

Great input...thanks Bauks! Def leaning heavily toward the ssv, just need to find a good price online. Unfortunately my bong is very old, so doesn't even have ground glass joints for attachment of the water pipe adapter...but I figure I may be able to rig something up if I find that I need it. I did experience some throat irritation with the MFLB when I first got it, but that might have been because I was using it A LOT. Now that I use it only when the occasion calls for it, I've had no problems. Surely if/when I get a ssv I'll be using it quite often, but since I haven't even had a chance to try one yet, I'll hold off on using any bubbler type attachment until I'm sure I'll even need one.

well, i've never tried the ssv, but i've used the volcano and extreme q extensively and i definitely prefer the q-ray. for bag style, i'd say the quality of the vapour is pretty indistinguishable (we've done side-by-side tests), the only noticeable difference being that the volcano has that cool pressure-fit mouthpiece on it. (the purist in me actually prefers that the q has a ceramic heater core, as opposed to volc's steel one, but that's academic, really, since the vapour seems the same....) i would say, slap that mouthpiece on the q ray bag, make it the same price, and i'd still choose the q ray over the volcano.
and it also does whip.
and for $100 extra you can get a rechargeable battery pack to make it 'portable' (<- we don't have one yet but i'm getting one before camping season frrrr shrrrr)
and it's smaller and lighter.

a friend of mine puts a glass tiddlywink (those flattened marble thingies) in the bowl for oils, seems to work pretty good.
