French police arrest burqa ban protesters as law comes into force

FRANCE’S CONTROVERSIAL ban on the Muslim face veil comes into force today, with women who wear a niqab or burqa in a public place risking a fine of €150.
The law, which President Nicolas Sarkozy says is designed to reaffirm French secular values and the rights of women, is likely to affect about 2,000 women living in France.
Police in Paris yesterday arrested 59 people at an unauthorised protest against the new law.
What do you think? Should how you want to dress be illegal? Can we deny that burqa is the absolutely maximum in sexual conservatism?

Hell is any one who wants to wear such things are they criminals?
Is it a crime that a computer scanner can not take your picture if you wear a Burqa?

What do you think? Islamic Terrorism or old fashioned styles?

I like the words of the new german foreign minister who said something to the effect of "there is no room in germany for muslims..."

France, Germany, England, Sweden, Norway... all are getting pretty fucking tired of the muslims lack of assimilation in their countries. Muhammed is the number one boys' name for newborns in England (or maybe it was just London, I dont remember).

yea I support france's take on the whole situation..... "We're secular and we like it" i didn't see a single burqua while i was in france though... and i had to walk everywhere, i had no more money to taxi around like some sort of VIP, so i walked all around and didn't see a single burqua...

i saw a few of them in belgium though......

I applaud France...they are finally coming off their rag and asserting themselves in the world. The US needs more allies like France.

I have seen some of their woman and in most cases the law should be they have to keep it on, enough ugly chicks around don't need more of them.

I can't help but think of Nudity.

Shouldn't we be arrested for too few clothes and not the opposite?

Interesting play on our American Mores..

The aim of the law is basically to say: "Assimilate or we will make you."

If there wasnt popular support for this initiative, it wouldnt happen. It's an attempt to mediate an escalating situation.

Well if they're going to ban burqas then they need to ban nuns habits and mormon garments and russian orthodox beards and.....

Separation of church and state. It's a good idea.

It is kind of shitting on women's rights. I understand we have freedom of religion they do not? Burquas represent the dominance men have over women.

its optional to be a nun...its quite the opposite for the burqa. And how many mormons are there really in europe? Not many...like not even a percentage point...however, 83-88% are roman catholics in France. And Russia isnt even part of the discussion.

If this Burqa reality was the height of Fashion in Vogue, as a dynamic contrast for example, would you feel the same?
When i look at the photos and I encourage people to look at the patterns and designs in the photographed burqas' then you see the individual woman who shines through a cage of cloth.

Moment for their suffering. Least we allow them to maintain their family unit for their life..
This sort of change needs to be Generational and France may not have Economic time..
Remember International Banking is World Government.

11% of the Utah population is Mormon. There are 13 million Mormons. You do the math.
