how long should i veg and should I LST?

Hey Every one this is my first grow in a long time and i was wondering how long I should let my girls veg before i start flowering. Both of my girls are just finishing out There 3rd Week of veg and are about 6.5" to 7.5" tall. I would like to get about 4 ounces all together from both girls combined.(you know give or take about an ounce and a half. 2.5 ounces minimum and 5.5 maximum.) plus will it help my yield if I LST? Any info will help.:hump:

Supz duo. I'm gonna veg for 5 weeks I think. Did some research on it myself and that seems to be a popular answer. Think I read something somewhere about the yield potentially increasing 25% if you let them veg a week longer. Hence instead of 4 weeks and you're dying to start flowering, suck it up and wait another week to make it 5 lulz. There is also the fact that plants double/triple in size when they start to flower as well. Space is always a factor. Not sure about LST as I'm a newb grower myself. I'm gonna try topping I do believe. Hope this helps. Yur girlz do look lovely thusfar. Keep it up :D Happy growing

imo lst`n helps in yield a little ,

pull the branches down so the lower ones get more light then all the branches tries to be the main cola

as far as how long to veg

how much room do you have to spear ?

its gonna double in size when you flip to 12/12

and some strains even triple in size

if you want 4ft plants , flip 12/12 around 20"

and theirs no way of knowing how much you will yield

it just depends on the strain , how its taken care of , lights ect

yeah I spent all day researching how long to veg and I think I will go with about 5 to 6 week veg. I might flower them sooner if i see some early flowering. The big question is Whether i should LST/ top my girls or if i should just let them grow naturally . Anyone have some info or tips on LSTing and/or topping.:hump:

Urban Grower on youtube has a lot of video's on how to LST and/or top. Shows you exactly where to do it, how to do it. Thats who i learned from however i don't learn well from reading, i have to see it! lol

they say lst increase yield because you will get more colas instead of them little buds at the bottom because all buds will be getting equal light im lst i never top i dont like the idea of decapitating my plant

I have Northern Lights at 6 weeks veg, going to go another 3 weeks before flower, I hope they get BIG!! Oh yeah, vegging under 1000W MH too!

ok so i was wondering the same thing here so i did a little test, you can check out what i did i have 2 girls both northern lights and vegs them for 2 months ( yea i know!!) I LST 1 and the other 1 i just let her do her thing when i put them into flower the (natural 1) if you will was just over 2foot and the LST 1 is about 1foot tall manybe a bit less and is jsut over 2 foot wide check out the pic, I have never done this and wanted to know whats better for yield, space, maintance and all that so hoping for the best this pics are about 3 days into flowering i think so far i like the LST way as long as the colas are all good

Indica will grow 50% to 100% bigger after 12/12. Sativa will grow 100% to 300% taller. These plants look primarily indica. A 4 foot tall plant in a 2' x 2.5' area is gonna be tough to do and the success is going to depend on the strain.

LST is tying down your branches to where you want them. Topping is cutting the stem near the top to create more top colas. It's really that simple there is no science to it. Each plant has a predetermined amount of branching it will do so don't think you can just keep topping everything over and over to make it a monster cause there is a stopping point for every strain.

The strains that i am growing right now are between 80% to 90% Indica. So, then I should only expect my girls to grow a little more then double after 12/12?

I was thinking that also. A 4 foot plant might be a little much for my closet. I think i will go for a 3 foot maximum on my girls.
