Looking For A Good Anti Anxiety Strain

For anxiety the doc has some very effective medicine that will work. The problem with the bud here is that for some people the "up" high from Sativas will make them happy and forget about anxiety. For other people this "up" will be too much and could trigger an even worse anxiety attack.
Then we have the more calm high from Indicas. To many this will be very relaxing and probably what is best against anxiety - but some people will fees worse with this too.

I know that it feels better to take a puff from mother nature's medicin, but if you haven't tried anxiety medicine i would give it a go. It really works great.
I see what you are saying. My problem isn't anxiety. I don't have a problem with it I just get anxiety when I smoke pot. That's why I don't smoke. But my wife does now for here migraines and I am growing it and will be for a long time. I just would like to enjow the fruits of my labor every once in a while. It makes my heart race and makes me anxious to the point that it isn't enjoyable. I am thinking maybe there is a strain that I can enjoy. I might just be SOL though.

You could end up never finding a strain that works like you want, simply because of something in the unconscious part of your mind - which surfaces when you are high.

It is still seen as a negative thing by the people around you (general population), it's illegal (you have to hide), for some unknown reason part of your unconscious mind does not like you smoking.

You have to feel like you deserve to smoke, sounds easy - but you can't lie to your own brain. It IS you, and whatever emotions that are coming out are not easily controllable.

The "regular" conscious part of the mind is like a flashlight/torch in a dark room, you are only aware of the stuff you point it at - you are in control, but when high this flashlight get much harder to control.
This is what makes people giggle, and some react differently. It IS defined as a hallucinogenic drug after all. Talking from experience (yes, it went away but took some time and effort).

If you grow your own - have you tried to let them overmature to the point where you see maybe 50% amber colored trichomes? - if not try that. Some of the THC has degraded to more "meallow" cannabinoids and will be less trippy and make you feel more sleepy.

This my first (check it out in my sig) grow so maybe I will try that with one of the plants.

Think it'll might help. This is how they make "Red Lebanese" hash red. "Yellow Lebanese" is another hash that is made from trichomes harvested earlier (milky white) while the red hash is made by harvesting amber colored trichomes making red hash more relaxing.

i used to get paronoid wen i smoked (sometimes)...jus smoke some more...eventually it'll go away.....or maybe jus try smokin hash only...its very heavy....50% THC or CBD in hash, compared to 20% in buds....if hash isnt an option, then try a strain called KRYPTONITE...its about 85% indica....its a cross between o.g. kush and sour diesel

...hope this helps

not necessarily true with outdoor bud , most of the trichomes can be straight cloudy white and still knock you on your ass in a mellow haze... I don't know why outdoor bud doesn't amber up like indoor, all I know is I recommend waiting till all the hairs turn and the buds are swelled, then add 1 week to that if possible for stoniest results!

It can be true but generally outdoor strains will become amber if they get the time to mature properly in my experience. Around here most people get forced to harvest a bit early due to nasty falls.
Also true that some strains will make you stoned even though they have milky trichomes. This is because some strains have more of those meallow cannabinoids than others..
I recommend checking the trichomes instead of hairs and swelling.

honestly when I see my buds totally swelled at 100% red hairs, they're virtually done growing.

I really don't think the amber trichome argument applies outdoor growers..., nor do I see why we should harvest by trichomes when there is only indirect evidence to ambering causing such things.

when the plants done it shows it. forcing it to go longer because you think it should have amber trichomes or that it's the general consensus that amber trichomes = stoney plant are simply not true.

sure if you're indoors you can do that all day long, but I do believe that the ambering thathappens indoors is different than that of the ambering that happens outdoors.

I mean seriously that cannabinoid argument simply doesn't apply here, most outdoor plants don't amber up like indoor plants do.

and it's not a length of time thing, you could leave them out there in a greenhouse protected and you probably wouldn't see the same ambering that you would on an indoor plant, it's seriously not the same.

when i smoke, sometimes i get paranoia and I won't want to go out. i think it's good for me when id on't have a lot to do but if i need a clear head, i have to stay sober. today i haev nothing to accomplish, nor any reason to leave home so i can smoke all day but tomorrow, i have stuff to do, i can't be paranoid. i take klonopin for anxiety and i can function well on a half mg of that without paranoia. i haven't found any pot that curbs my anxiety. these things are pretty individual, hpoefully you find something that helps you. you could try calling the 420doctor and ask them LOL. i am sure they have suggestions, probably stupid ones but suggestions none the less.

I use marijuana for anti anxiety purposes. Around where I live i can't get quality medicine that often, but lately a friend has set up a hydro grow and grew some awesome super lemon haze, which is great for my anxiety. Hands down winner would be White Widow, I smoked some in Amsterdam with my brother and it was almost like I was rolling :eyesmoke: It was an awesome experience.

Everybody is different, personally for me sativa's are a lot less stressful then indica's.

May i also recommend looking into meditation, it has really worked wonder's for me.

Super silver haze is by far the most antianxiety strain I have tried. Just made me happy and want to get things done . Very uplifting ,energetic and clear.

Its about time someone suggested meditation, it works wonders for me too. Start meditating and bring yourself to a peaceful state of mind. It doesn`t have to be meditation either, work on something like I would play a didgeridoo and do yoga.

I would say pick one of the suggested meallow strains and start mentally finding why you have problems with the effects of cannabis. Cannabis would only make a problem you have while not under the influence appear, but that problem is still there.

And do yourself a favour, everyone actually:

I read up on this and read several articles claiming that recent tests have proven CBD to be pretty good against stuff like anciety etc. It's not easy to find the one strain with the most CBD in it since this cannabinoid has been bred away to get more THC in the bud (THC is more active than CBD - so breeders focused on getting just this) But now we know that CBD in fact has several beneficial effects on various illnesses - even on some types of cancer.
Read the article from wiki about CBD here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabidiol
(notice that not EVERYTHING on wiki is correct since it's written by people, but mostly incorrections are corrected fast)

Yeah make sure the THC to CBD ratio is at least 50-50 in your strain. But then we have the people who take a toke off a joint and claim they "can`t breathe" or feel as if they are dying. I think thats as serious as anxiety really, you just have to adapt your mind to things :)

Well.... My wife spent some good money on some danky ass Chron lat night. Though it was more money than I would had liked to spend, I haven't harvested yet so..... there you go. Anyway this stuff smelled like a mix of oranges/mango and roses. I thought this shit must taste good. I couldn't help myself and took two hit. Well I was buzzed and my head was vey clear and no racing heart. I actually liked it. I have no idea what strain it was but I wish I knew. I didn't smoke much but it makes me hopeful.
