Why Kinect Fails?

Hey guys so i gather from reading and writing for a while that alot of us are xbox owners. As you are aware, previously called project natal has been out in the market for a while and officially sucks little white happy children's balls. I open this discussion as to the reason of it sucking and to say "they should have done that and that better"
imho, i think the fact they took something with such awsome potential and became all micro$oft with it with NO games for actual gamers (better yet, adults) is the reason it fails so much and will continue to until they come up with the next shtick...
your opinions?

The PS3 Move is pretty awesome IMO! I'm not a big gamer and I somewhat agree with grow space. I always thought the Wii was kinda gay and for kids............then I played frisbee golf on the Move! I was instantly hooked!:-D

Thats gay...Real gaming is with a controller. Its is for old people, and milfs ! Oh, and kids !
No actually its with a joystick with buttons that clack, but thats another issue

I would like to see more single player games, that are designed for or with more emphasis offline, hah like that will ever happen again. something simple yet heroin like addictive something like geometry wars, Not saying it nececarily has to be that game, but most of the downloadable games seem to have a time span on them like only so much stuff you can do in them before they lose their replay value.. kinda meandering off topic, but what the hell.

The most annoying thing to me is that m$ created this buzz among gamers that kinect will be intended to the gamer crowd as well as the gay happy times family time club. And in the end they just saved up on money, built half a kinect (it was supposed to have a processing unit for no lag) and made it only for future vietnamise children if you know what I mean...

i dont haave a kinect, but its seems like a bad idea, but not in the sense of it being a game tool. IDK if u ppl have heard but google (microsoft) is making a giant database where people use the internet and all the information they put on there is stored for "easier access" and faster logons or w/e. So, combine this, kinect (camera) and the Patriot Act, and you have a recipe for the gov't to see and know about everything you do. and considering a microphone can bee the size of half a no.2 pencil, i wuld be wary of what u do and say at all.

i'm 44, i love my kinect.
Have to agree with FDD2BLK i love my kinect the tech is amazing compared to wii now thats stupid. You just gotta give it some time has some great games coming out, and its a fun party game and deff gets the sweat flowing. For 150 bucks and you get a game its worth buying, and this time next year theres gonna be almost 50 titles not bad for a year. And you can MOD the shit outta these things, and make them do some crazy shit

And PS to dude above me big brother is in everything they can even listen to you thru your cable receiver anything with an input output they can hear you if they really wanted to. But if your worried about bein listen to then you have bigger things to worry about because they shit isnt really used inless your being watched watched like doin some serious shit they could give a shit about stoners lol 75% of ppl on xbox are stoners. Im not worring about it, with technology nowadays how it is if the gov wanted to get ya they could.

Im no scientist or anything, but ive never heard of that. Care to explain the technology behind what makes this possible? Otherwise i'll file this into my "extreme paranoia" cabinet.

i'm with you on this one. i used to work for a cable company and i can't tell you how many people swear that someone is spying on them. there is no such mechanism in any of these cable boxes that allows for spying. the remote capabilities are WAY exaggerated in the customer's mind. they can turn it off, zap it, or reboot it. that's it. they cannot see you, they cannot hear you, there is no magical death wave flowing through your coax. the output on a dct (cable box) is connected to the tv, silly.

I learned that about the Input Output Thing In History when studing about the FBI last year for a book report. I dunna how accurate the info is but makes sense i mean it is big brother and if you watch this show on Netflix Called Your Always Being Watched, it shows you how they can zoom in on a date of a dime from a satelite in space. That alone tells me that they have alot of tech tools for spying. I dont care like i said b4 im just a toker im sure they wouldnt bother me considerin there is crack and herion dealers all downtown. Just think about the tech that there not tellin us about if this is what we already know. And im not bein paranoid im just statin some facts.

The first is by using your very own television set to listen to you.

Sounds fantastic? Another nutty blog idea? Think again.

Here I am quoting from an in-house memorandum: "The methodology of using a commercial television set connected to a cable network system being used as a transmitter as well as a receiver, allowing other parties to hear conversations conducted in the vicinity of the set utilizes the medium of a digital oscillator installed in television sets.

This use is only for a set itself connected to a cable system. The additional use of a cable box connected to the television set is the only means by which the set can be used to listen to nearby conversations because these boxes are designed to feed back information through the cable system.

This feedback makes it possible for a subscriber to cable to use his telephone to call the cable company for the inclusion of a special program to the subscriber’s system.

The cable company is automatically able to ascertain the telephone number from the call and using that information, send the desired program to the television set via their network and the box.

The subscriber code of the subscriber matches the data on the subscriber’s box. This makes the use of the box as an instrument of clandestine surveillance possible.

It is then possible for such information to be fed into other channels, including investigative ones.

The use by private parties of the cable system to obtain clandestine information in this manner would be difficult if not impossible, but the NSA and FBI techniques in other electronic surveillance matters are more than sufficient to ensure electronic eavesdropping.

netflix is an internet connection and for most people it goes through a modem. anyone with a cable internet connection is always "open" unless they manually adjust their settings. any random hacker can access a modem, the gov doesn't need special goons for that. the cable box is a just a coaxial connection, and while technically "two way" communication occurs, it is only via a server. they already know what you watch, it's printed on your bill. what is it you think they are accessing?

so you are alleging that a cable box has the capability to pick up your conversations in your living room and then transmit them? how exactly does it recieve/pick up these conversations?

I dunna bro i wrote the paper over a year ago that was just a lil article i found that i had on file. I dont have any other info due to i got a new computer and other files arent safed. More or less im just saying its possible i dont know how because i am not a gov offical. Im just saying if you look on the web you will see that it is possible. Im sure it works on some sort of a radio wave transmitter or somethin like that. I mean when your next to an electronic device and your on a cordless phone sometimes you can pick up someone else signal maybe it works like that but like i said im no expert but hopefully someone can explain better than I.
