I'll start off by saying I don't post alot because it seems any questions/answers have already been posted and answered. I've always loved gardening and am good at it(it's genetic apparently). Since getting the notion to grow Cannabis and some how finding this site(I don't even remember how I did) I've learned SO MUCH from y'all about
A) Cannabis growing
B) Indoor growing in general
My whole perspective on the "drug scene" has changed(I use quotes because cannabis isn't really a drug, it's a fking plant...). In order produce a quality product you need intelligent, dedicated individuals and that is really the opposite of what most news and/or media what you to believe.
I mentioned I've learned so much and I have, the whole process of breeding and the different strains is absolutely fascinating(genetics in general fascinate me so that may have something to do with it) and has really broadened my outlook on other plants as well. It's really cool to think that all the strains are the same species but have such radically different characteristics. Hell, I was at Lowes today and was stunned at the different strains of tomatoes...something I never would have given a second thought about until recently.
Indoor growing is just a marvel of where we are as a society, we can harness artificial means to create controlled environments and I love it. It's science splashed with art. Over the past few weeks I've been growing 2 Fast buds in a cleared out closet and they are looking FANTASTIC. The grow got compromised and I had to move them outdoors, luckily they are autos and were into the veg/flower stage so they were established and had some hardiness to them so should still be ok but we will see(I'm ordering so more seeds on 420 from attitude just incase and to take advantage of the special). I've been keeping a log complete with nearly daily with pictures that I'll be posting after harvest and curing or they die due to the outdoor transition.
Still in the vein of indoor growing I deciding to keep using the space and equipment to grow eggplant and squash and really I wouldn't be prepared to do that if it wasn't for everything I've learned about growing Cannabis. I've learned about light requirements, wave lengths needs, energy usage and how to optimize it, bulbs, reflectivity, hydroponics(even though I still like using soil...there's just something tactile...just...good about it haha), nutrients and plant cultivation in general. My parents are pretty conservative and a grow lab was recently busted in my area. We got into a discussion about it and I realized how little the public in general knows about the actual cultivation. These people were busted because their neighbors narced on them. They had a 15 plant set up with hps lights and next to no ventilation so I'm guessing it smelled to high heaven plus the heat output by hps were easily detectable by infrared once the police were tipped off. I started just spouting off numbers and facts about watts, heat signatures, and strains and my mom literally was like "holy crap...you know your shit"(although in different words)and it's all thanks to YOU GUYS.
Point of this post is that this has become one of my favorite boards, I come here everyday and ALWAYS learn something new. Group hug guys!
