Is It Possible to Expand the Aerogarden Reservoir?

I am on my first grow and just finished week 8 with 2 females, almost 3 1/2 weeks into flowering. They look good, way better than I could have hoped for but my problem is that in a little over a week, I am going away for 5 days. Does anyone know if its possible to expand the reservoir? Right now, I am putting water in every night and I think it could only go maybe 3 days without additional water. What's worse case scenario if the water runs dry? Would it destroy the buds that grew or would it just be a loss of how much more it could have grown? Any suggestions on how to expand the water supply would be really appreciated. Thanks,

Just shut the lights off and leave everything else running. Pumps, air stone, fans all left on , and they should be OK as long as they stay nice and cool. They don't drink much with lights out. Good luck.

Nope, that might send them into hermie. I've had people tell me they can go up to 14 days in complete darkness and recover without issues. I went 5 days myself last year and mine had plenty of water left. Flipped the switch back on 12/12 no problems.....

Then maybe keep reading and learning....You really think hes the first person called away from his garden?
I'm not trying to call bs, like I said. But 14 days of darkness??
Put my fatass in 14 days of darkness, and it's the making of the latest zombie movie.
I'm only asking for info and links. Just seeking info. We do get a lot of power failures here.
If I can escape with no harm done with 14 days darkness, enlighten me please.

Dude sorry, but I was just helping a fellow grower that asked for help, with some personal experience. NOT HOLDING CLASS...Do a little research, I don't carry around links and grow journals in my back pocket. Its out there just hunt a little...

If we're all claiming crazy things then, I have a car that does 0-60 in 0.2 seconds. No links though, sorry, I don't carry them in my back pocket. NOT HOLDING CLASS.

Green Inferno: you asked for help and Mr. Natural was nice enough to respond. If you didn't agree with his advice, oh well, it didn't cost you anything did it? But he took his time to try to help you. If it was me and you gave me the same static I'd tell you the same thing only I wouldn't do it as nicely. I'd likely tell you to get off your ass, do your own research and I'd scratch you off the list of people I'm willing to help. We have a lot of lazy clowns in some of these forums who don't want to do their own homework, they ask for help, we give them our best guess/advice and they don't even have enough class to say thank you. Instead, they give us static. Oh well, just remember: what goes around comes around.

If you don't agree with what he says get someone to house sit your plants or come in and check on them on a daily basis and plan your absences around your growing schedule. That's what the rest of us have to do. I don't like the idea of leaving my plants alone, even four days. I did it once over a long holiday weekend and I came back to two out of five dead and a third one close to it. A buddy of mine lost all of his crop that way. Last month I shut down my operation altogether for almost three weeks, the first time in about five years, so we could go on vacation. I'll start it up again in the next few days, but one thing I've learned about hydroponics is that it's very unforgiving with with absentee farmers, especially with what we're growing. Now my policy is: no days off until the harvest is in. Some thing to think about.

I was having a pretty bad night, family related stuff.
I took it out on the wrong person. I do apologize for that.

I just want to say I am so appreciative of the time and effort members of this board put into helping each other. This was my first and I didn't know what to expect but I followed some of the basics offered here and with a little luck, I think I'm in a nice spot. I wish I would've bought myself an extra 3 weeks though. I just figured whatever came from 9 weeks would be good enough, but now I want to see it through. So if I turn the lights off for 5 full days, you really think it will be ok?

to be honest just get another container of water to sit next to it and a float assembly (like your toilet) so as your res depletes it auto refills it. be it fresh water or nutrient enhanced. If you make gravity your friend it will even pump the water into the aerogarden for you

hmm dno how i ended up here but i do like the aerogarden grows, what i was thinking about was a large water butt with enough for a few days, 2 water pumps and 2 transistors, set the speed of the pump to the aerogarden as the same speed as which you could pump water into the butt and if the butt is large enough there will be constant water within the aerogarden ? im more used to bubblepod dwc and thats the system i use when i have to go
this way the butt supplys the water needed for the aerogarden

And plan C...
